Services
In December we present our annual production of the classic Nutcracker ballet. This is a wonderful opportunity for those ballet students who really enjoy performing. Through rehearsing for and performing in the Nutcracker, participants are able to gain an appreciation for the time and effort involved in preparing for a show.
This year's Spring Showcase functioned very similarly to The Nutcracker Re-Imagined. Classes are filmed in the theater separately and the film is edited together as a cohesive story/performance. There is no dress rehearsal this year. Dancers will have the opportunity to practice the dance in the space before we film during their scheduled filming time.
The Philadelphia Youth Ballet (PYB) was founded in the fall of 2011 to inspire dedicated young dancers by providing them with a professional training environment and additional performance opportunities. PYB rehearsals and performances present an opportunity for young dancers to develop their artistry and build confidence, enhancing the technical precision demanded in their daily technique classes.
The Early Childhood Program includes Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet classes. This program is designed to cultivate the joy for ballet in our youngest dancers while introducing them to the format of a dance class. The use of music, props, and imagination keeps students engaged while they learn basic ballet vocabulary.

My 4 yo daughter started attending PDA in the beginning of 2021 and she loves it! She asked me if she could take ballet lessons there everyday. So happy I found this school! I love how they combine muscle training with storytelling and letting kids express themselves through movement. Everyone is so friendly there too.

My daughter traveled from California to take their summer intensive. I looked very hard for a school that I felt would be a good match for her and we could find some sights to enjoy during our travels. This school turned out to be a fantastic decision. My daughter was starting at an ABT summer workshop this week and I really needed a school that would prepare her, her current studio is not quite cutting it. She had her placement audition at ABT today and was placed in a level higher than we expected. I have to give so much credit to the time she spent at this studio, they were welcoming, had experienced

Our 12 year-old daughter started studying dance with Miss Lori when she was 2! We followed her when we moved from the city to the suburbs and she opened a studio out here; each year the offerings have expanded. The teachers are excellent. We are looking forward to the new studio in Ardmore and many more years of Nutcrackers and Spring Showcase performances.

Lori and her team have created a fantastic environment at PDA. The girls learn and progress through a challenging yet appropriate environment and have numerous opportunities to perform and showcase their talent. The instructors are kind and encouraging and foster a strong sisterhood for the dancers.

I have 3 daughters who all attend ballet at The Philadelphia Dance Academy. All are different learners with different personalities, and each has been given the confidence and skills to step out on a stage with several hundred people watching with a smile on their face. This studio encourages all children interested in Ballet, Theater and Contemporary dance to develop skills to the best of their ability without judgment. Couldn't be happier!
