Services
Living Arts Dance, Inc. was established in 2006, with the mission to provide professional performing arts programs for all. Living Arts Dance staff all have a passion for exposing children and adults to the arts, giving a safe outlet of self-expression, encouraging physical fitness, self-discipline and a great enriching diversion from inner city life.
From 2006 until 2018 Living Arts Dance, Inc. gave scholarships and tuition assistance from out pocket donations and through many fundraisers. Living Arts also created college prep, study abroad and mentoring programs for talented students of poverty-stricken and low income families.
Many of these students have graduated college and are thriving as successful adults, they have now collaborated with our director, Ms. Jaquetta Colson, to establish the Living Arts Dance Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to continuing this work on a larger scale.

Youth Recital Dancer - September though June Ages: 5 - 17 (Run just like the school year). Mommy/Daddy & Me dance classes are a great way to introduce young dancers to our Living Arts Dance family and get them comfortable in dance classes with the support of their favorite person.
Living Arts Dance, Inc. will bring the performing arts to your daycare center, facility, office or school. We offer a variety of performing art courses such as Creative Movement, Edu-Gym, Music, Theater, Ballet, Praise Dance, Jazz, Tap, Hip-Hop, Tumbling & more! Lesson packages can be geared for children ages 12 months & up.
Our Summer dance programs are divided into 3 programs: Summer Camp, Summer Dance Intensive and Saturday Summer Mini Session of dance. Summer dance camp and intensive programs run 10 weeks, Monday through Friday in 2 sessions. Select the weeks in which you would like your child to attend throughout each 5 week summer session.

Living Arts Dance Inc. is the BEST dance studio in Philadelphia! I have purchased several drop in Adult courses from ballet to hip-hop to African. The Adult dance instructors are very knowledgeable, well experienced, and provide quality choreography. I am in no way a trained dancer, but I have always felt welcomed by the LAD Inc Community and encouraged to my best.

We joined Living Arts a few months before the quarantine started. It was our 5 year olds first time trying any sort of organized dance classes. From the first email we had with Ms. Jaquetta she was nothing but helpful and inviting, even when I asked a million questions. We had maybe 5 classes in the studio before we had to start classes from home because of Covid 19. Everyone was always helpful and the little ones seem to all enjoy being at the studio. My daughter has enjoyed attending Living Arts Dance Studio for the last three years. The instructors are great and work well with the children. The dance studio is a warm and family-welcoming atmosphere. Parents feel included and supported when information is shared out regarding recital information, dance pictures, and upcoming events. I recommend this dance studio if you're looking for an overall positive experience for you and for your children as he or she learns the techniques, genres, and team-building skills needed for them succeed in dance.

I have been part of the Living Arts Dance family from the very beginning, about 14 years. The staff is very professional and talented. They treat every child as if they were their own. I have seen how the energy and atmosphere has changed the lives of so many young people. It is a place where the children can express and grow creative talents. It also teaches them self-love and boost their self-esteem. I highly recommend this studio for your little one. Trust me they will grow is so many different ways.

My granddaughter Lady just started this past session, right before the 2019 recital & I must that while I am a stickler for consistency, I have not yet found ANY INCONSISTENCIES. My Lady is completely in love… with the program. Family attended the recital & was in awe of the talent & professionalism of the staff. I will be adding a grandson in the very near future. We, as a VILLAGE, have found our dance home.

I think that Living Arts Dance Studios is an amazing place to send your daughter or son! There are tons of classes they can take and they get to learn new and cool things. Students get to try out new techniques and their teachers get to help guide them through their dance journey. Also Living Arts performs incredible performances throughout the year. Try it out!

Ms. Jaquetta was the best dance instructor I have ever had the privilege of learning under. She is fiercely passionate and worked to empower us to be the best of who we are. Living Arts is one of the best dance studios on the map. The owner, Ms. Jaquetta Colson is phenomenal. She puts a lot into her students. She treats them all as her own and pushes them to strive way beyond their own expectations. We had a wonderful time during our dance lesson with Jaquetta! She was professional, considerate, and overall a pleasure to work with. She taught us to dance and made us feel comfortable with not one but THREE! dances and accommodated myself, my partner, and our parents during our dance lesson. We are so glad we came in and worked with her. I can't wait for our big day, as I feel so relaxed and confident after our session!

I had been looking for a dance studio for my 3yr old daughter for a while. We attended several trial classes at different studios and thought they were just fine until we came to Living Arts. The other studios had very loose structures and I felt like most the time the kids were just all over the place. I figured that that's just how it is for such a young age group. But then we met Miss Jacquetta! She is excellent at keeping class and time structured and the kids are doing something meaningful every moment of the class. I can't understand how anyone would consider giving Living arts dance studio 5 stars. The owner of the facility Jaquetta personality stinks just like her professionalism. From the first day my daughter and I met her during orientation, she came off very rude and snobbish. I purchased my daughters shoes and dance wear from her after the orientation session. The dance wear was giving to us the same day but we were told we needed to wait until the first week of dance camp because she was expecting a shoe shipment that week. My two year old daughter attends ballet class here and I really love Ms. Jaquetta's approach. She's very patient and approachable. She takes her time and teaches not only dance moves, but also the vocabulary. My daughter looks forward to all her classes. The dance studio prices are affordable and there's free parking!

This place is a hidden gem! My fiance and I were searching around for dance studios who offered wedding dance lessons and we came across this place. We were really nervous about our first dance because neither of us had any kind of dance experience whatsoever, but Jaquetta worked with us to choreograph one for our song and it was absolutely perfect. We started our first lesson by practicing basic steps to get comfortable moving our bodies to the beat. I went to living arts to learn a dance for my wedding and I was blown away by the amazing customer service that Jaquetta offered. Let's just say that I am not a "natural" when it comes to dance. However, she was patient and friendly and really taught me how to make the dance my own. I 100% recommend this place if you are looking to learn to dance at any skill level.

Bright, spacious and fantastic! My nephew had his 5th year beach themed birthday party in this great space. The price to rent was very inexpensive and included tables, chairs and optional clean up. In addition, the energetic owner Jaquetta provided all the kids with a free karate class.

I've been going here for a few months for Zumba, African Dance, and Bokwa Fitness. The classes are fantastic and the price is super-affordable. The Zumba instructor was knowledgeable of a lot of different dance styles, and it was a great workout. The African dance class is done to the beat of an actual drummer. (Sometimes two drummers!) I am super excited this place has opened up right in Northern Liberties and so close to the El!

So excited about this place! We went to a Zumba class tonight and loved it. The studio itself is a little off the beaten path but don't let that deter you. It's spacious, bright, the staff seem fun and enthusiastic and we had a great time with Jennifer - the Zumba instructor. It was definitely a workout, but I had so much fun, the hour went by too quickly. Am excited to try Belly Dance and Hip Hop.

I'm so glad this place opened! What a great addition to Northern Liberties. I went there for the first time last night. It's located kind of behind the gas station on Delaware and Spring Garden. The studio is spacious and bright. There are several rooms and a changing room with cubbies to store your things. It looked like they also had a room for child care for your kids to play in while you took your dance class. I don't have children but that seems great for mothers who want to exercise.
