Since 1943, the Williams family has been involved in the funeral business and assisting people on the Eastern Shore of Virginia at their time of need. Our family considers our profession to be a calling, not just a job. We consider it a privilege for families to request our services and take this sacred trust seriously when we are called.
This site has been designed to give you information about our family, staff, facilities, service and merchandise. There is also a page to request more information from us from the comfort of your own home. We also have recent online obituaries for you to view. You may also send a note of condolence to a family when other obligations and commitments prevent you from attending a visitation or funeral service.

Services
Williams Funeral Homes trace their origin to a partnership which began in Painter, VA in 1943. Several years later in 1949, Carlisle M. Williams and his wife Evelyn Hickman Williams purchased the Bundick and Johnson Funeral Home in Onancock, VA. That funeral home then became Williams Funeral Home. They were joined by their son, John T. Williams in 1959 and then later by another son, Thomas W. Williams.
Williams Funeral Homes provides personalized services to meet the personal desires of each family. This service includes embalming, services of Funeral Director and staff, one day of viewing hours, the funeral service at the funeral home or local church of your choice, a register book, memorial folders, acknowledgement cards, and the necessary automotive equipment.
Variety and value are the words which best describe the merchandise we offer at Williams Funeral Homes. For those families choosing a traditional funeral service, we offer a wide range of caskets from which to choose. Unlike some firms in our area, we still display the actual caskets in our selection room.
Whether you are preplanning for yourself or choosing for a loved one, a casket selection is a very personal decision and an expression of your feelings. A casket that reflects the personality and taste of your loved one can be your final tribute to their life. We understand these needs and offer a wide variety of caskets that can help you make your decision.
A burial vault is a protective outer container for the casket. Though not required by law in all states, most cemeteries do require an outer container. Many families select a burial vault for the additional peace of mind it brings. A reinforced burial vault provides long-lasting protection needed to resist elements and physical conditions - including ground water, and weight from heavy equipment - over time.
