Salyer Funeral Home & Cremation Services
Thank you for visiting The Salyer Funeral Home Memorial Website. We have been servicing the Eastern Shore since 1949. We have added this website to the family oriented services we provide, with the hope that it may help you in your time of need. The Eastern Shore is a unique community of diverse yet close knit families.

I am very proud to be a part of this community. We, at Salyer Funeral Home, strive to provide services that meet and exceed the vast range of needs our clients have, from the most basic to the most complex. Whatever your need, we will handle it with sensitivity, respect and a sense of tradition started by my grandparents Bill and Leone Salyer.
Services
Salyer Funeral Home, a third generation business, was founded by my Grandfather, William Blaine Salyer, better known as Bill. As a young man, he worked as an assistant and then managed a funeral home near his hometown in the southwest part of Virginia. He went on to attend Cincinnati College of Embalming in 1939.
At Salyer Funeral Home, we take great pride in caring for our families, and will work tirelessly to provide you with a beautiful, lasting tribute to your loved one. In addition to the services we offer, you will receive an online memorial that you can share with family and friends. While honoring your loved one is our top priority, we also want to help you through this difficult time.
When planning a service, you have many options available to you and we will do all that we can to provide a beautiful and respectful ceremony. No matter your choice, we can offer you a space to join with family and friends in grief, comfort and love. And above all, we will do our utmost to honor your loved one.
He was born in Aurora, Colorado and lived in Rochester, New York and Ocala, Florida before traveling the world with the United States Navy. Serving aboard the USS Mahan DDG-42 during the Gulf War was one of his proudest accomplishments. After leaving the Navy, Shannon moved to Elkton, Maryland to work at his brother's business.
Our staff is comprised of dedicated and licensed professionals with the experience to answer all your questions regarding our services. Please feel free to contact any of our staff members at any time. Mr. Dunn a native of Chincoteague Island, has been with the Salyer family business for over fifty-five years.
