South Bay Veterinary Clinic (SBVC) is located in Narragansett, RI, a beautiful coastal community approximately 28 miles from Providence, RI. Our year round clients come from Narragansett and neighboring towns.

South Bay Veterinary Services provides sick and emergency care, general and preventative care, diagnostic services, surgery, dentistry, neutering/spaying and microchiping for dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, birds and reptiles in RI. Sick and Emergency Care We provide same day sick visits for our patients.
Meet the doctors at South Bay Veterinary Clinic - Dr. Caroline Bowater and Dr. Chris Hannafin. Dr. Bowater is originally from England "across the pond". As a young girl growing up in London she always knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. Her family always had pets and she loved the bond she shared with them.
The Staff at South Bay Veterinary Clinic was recently featured by Vet Tech Colleges as one of the most exceptional in the Northeast! Sharon graduated from University of Rhode Island in 1994 with a degree in pre-veterinary science. She has been with SBVC since 1997 - yes, you heard that correctly! She is definitely considered to be the old timer on the block!
My husband and I have been bringing our ferret to South Bay for about 5 years (we have since gotten a second ferret who also goes there). Dr. Bowater and staff are all extremely competent and gentle with both of our furbabies. Dr. Bowater also has a lot of experience with ferrets which is a big plus!

I believe in Angels. They work at South Bay Vet Clinic. My elderly cat is a (somewhat) new patient here. Dr. Bowater and her staff are always quick to respond to my calls. Dr. Bowater is prompt and accurate in both diagnosis and treatment. She is so extremely kind and patient in explaining test results and answering my many questions. Her staff is pleasant, kind, respectful, and helpful. I am grateful for their expertise and I know Lily is, too!

Excellent service provided always, even during the most soul crushing times. Dr. Bowater and staff always follow up with calls and are always willing to continue to look for remedies & solutions to make my pets better. They even assisted me with a jump when my car battery died in the parking lot. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I manage the local Pet Supplies Plus in Narragansett and we use South Bay vet for most of our veterinary needs. They are always SO accommodating and able to squeeze us in for sick visits when ever we need it. The staff, specifically Talia, is great and we really trust the advice from Dr. Bowater. They are great with follow up and letting us know proper care instructions. We recommend them to customers who shop in our store all the time. And their pricing is extremely affordable compared to other big vet offices. Thanks for being such a trustworthy group, we appreciate having you there for us!

They were great! I brought my puppy there for his first visit and they were super excited to meet Hank and made him feel relaxed and happy to be at the Vet. The Doctor called me (waiting in the car during covid) and she explained everything and was knowledgeable and patient. She took her time speaking with me and O really appreciated it because the parking lot was packed with people waiting for their turn.

Dr. Caroline is honest and true and cares about each and every patient. You're not a number with Dr. Caroline she talks to you face-to-face as a human and treats your pet the same way. That's why I drive 2 hours take my dog's there. The staff is friendly courteous and an extension of dr. Caroline. Professionalism is paramont at this office.
