It’s a 5 star restaurant in Bismarck. Fun. Innovative and completely fresh. I’ve lived all over, and burgers are the ultimate test of a restaurant, and their burger is out of this world. So amazing! Go go go!

I like this place in downtown Bismarck. I had the Eggs Benny and it was good. I wish I could have enjoyed one of their cocktails. Maybe next time.

Wow!! This place is absolutely delicious! We WILL be back. The flavors are..craft flavors if that makes sense! Unique tastes. They were also very welcoming of our kids even though it's a fancy style restaurant which is definitely appreciated! Side note, the bathrooms are beautiful :)

There's only two places in Bismarck that do fine dining correctly. This is one of them. The food is consistent and the flavours are well developed. The meals are a balanced symphony of flavours. It's a rarity in an area where a meat and potato dinner is king and downright fancy.
Every meal I've had here is noteworthy. The butterhorns are addicting. I could put myself into a coma if I had more than 3 available. The staff is professional and attentive. It's one of the few places in North Dakota I always return to.

Walked in and was told that I could only sit at the bar even though three tables were open for the entire hour that I waited. Took over five minutes (took so long that I started my stopwatch) to be greeted by the bartender and offered a drink. I ordered right away, and waited 40 minutes for my food. They could tell I was getting antsy so they checked on it and said it would be there any minute. I waited another ten minutes and still no food so I told them I’d like to cancel. The bartender told me it would only be a couple minutes as they are making it now. After waiting 50 minutes on a weeknight

I’ll definitely never eat here again. I was in a hurry so I didn’t have time to complain about the bill and just paid it, but I’m very unhappy.
I ordered a burger and fries. They charged me an extra dollar for no discernible reason. Considering I asked for it plain there should have been no addons for the burger. I also asked for a side of their country gravy to dip my fries in. You receive very few fries for $4 and over half of mine were burnt and tasted disgusting. The unburnt fries tasted “fine” at best. The burgers bun was also burnt. I love toasted buns but this was gross. The actual

Had an excellent time with my mother here at Butterhorn. The menu items now have improved since the first two years y’all been open. Glad that y’all have small plates. We love them. Please keep that going. Not many places do that. Plus, Nathan gave excellent service, explained in detail the items on the menu. Thank you Butterhorn and Thank You Nathan.

This was one of the best brunches of my LIFE! Get the butterhorns, enjoy the heck out of the jams, butters and icings that come with and just keep eating! The corn beef hash was to die for! The coffee was delicious and the service great. The vibe is so chill too. This was one of the best meals of my life and I loved this restaurant. Definitely check it out if you’re in town. No matter what you get it’ll be divine!

This meal was one of the best things I've had at Butterhorn. (Laminated Mafaldine:
Asparagus, cherry tomatoes, white wine, herbed goat cheese, lemon zest). It had great flavor, the pasta was perfectly al dente, portion was just right. I was sad the spaghetti was removed, but I might like this better. I also love that shrimp cocktail.

Delicious! The food was amazing. We went for Brunch. The menu had great choices, but could use a little more descriptions for some dishes as a side salad is not a normal side salad. Service was decent; we were sat at the small tall tables in the very front of the restaurant so our waitress didn't come by as often since the majority of the tables are near the back.
Definitely get the signature Butterhorns. They were INCREDIBLE. I thought they would be like a cinnamon roll, but they are amazing homemade croissant like breads. The signature drinks were very good, and the overall atmosphere was

Excellent food for Bismarck: lots of emphasis on cream and butter and oil, so definitely not a place for weight watchers. The signature butterhorn rolls were... Pretty good. Definitely above average for a dinner roll. I don't know that I'd name my restaurant after them. Nice old school vibe to the place, belying the fact that it's not a very old restaurant.

If in Bismarck, they know how to throw down. Josie was our server, she was wonderful! But more importantly the food and experience was awesome. The chef has some awesome talent, the scallops were out of control. The arugula salad was super bomb. When I go to Bismarck, the Butterhorn is an every time place now.

Pros: atmosphere. The booth in the basement is gorgeous. The feel is really inviting when you walk in. The walleye cakes and butter horns were delicious as was the steak.

Cons: Our waitress was really not attentive and walked away before we were able to answer her on more than one occasion. I felt like we were not important and she was not deserving of the generous tips she received from our table of 6. The pork was my biggest disappointment. It was dry and over done. I had one bite and could hardly get it down. I wish I had gone with the steak.

If I were to return I would try the steak.

Probably the worst burger I've ever had.

I went there with my boyfriend for a lovely dinner out, only to be taken to a corner table in the basement, next to a drunken party of bachelorette's . Cute. Ordered the classic burger on the menu, with high hopes, only to bite into a dry, unseasoned patty. Not to forget the dense burger bun- Literallly like chewing rubber. In my dinner, there was also little chunks of arteries or something of that sort. The only thing pleasant about that experience was the waitress. Definite no.

I'm a simple man so I couldn't pronounce half of the words on the menu but thankfully my beautiful wife is up on the food lingo and was able to explain to me what each dish was and what the ingredients were. I prepared myself for another "fancy" restaurant meal that would maybe taste a little better than normal fare at a chain restaurant.

Sweet Mother Teresa was I wrong! I have never tasted such smooth, flavorful, and decadent food in my entire life( except for my wife's cooking of course ). I swear to Tony Danza that they grind up unicorn horn and sprinkle it over the

A very unpretentious exterior on a cold night. Then upon opening the door we were greeted warmly by the maitre de with a huge smile. He suddenly got a phone call and I could tell from the conversation that it was someone cancelling their reservation. His expression of genuine concern for the caller was a really nice touch to start the evening.
The restaurant itself is clean and nicely furnished with lots of wood and what looks like the original tin ceiling that really adds a touch of elegance.
They have some really interesting looking craft cocktails, but we had a bottle of rose.

This is where I had my birthday dinner. I was pretty excited for it, having read how yummy the food is.

We did have reservations, which were set up a few days before hand.
When you walk in, the host is right there to greet you. He was very professional and friendly. We started out at the bar, since we had a couple of minutes before our reservation time.

The bartender was very friendly and busy, but when someone in our group asked for an explanation on a drink, he was able to give personalized details. You didnt feel rushed, which I liked.
Our drinks were nicely presented and very tasty.

We started with some amazing appetizers, Artichoke app was spot on but what got the most praise was the meatballs, they where simply put- brilliant! We didn't had a chance to try their bread since they run out of it. Beef tenderloin was simply melting in your mouth but the brussel sprouts where way overcooked. Mushrooms pasta was rich, creamy and delicious. Though, a little bit more mushrooms inside would enhance the visual experience as well. Service could've been little bit more attentive.

Fantastic...many places screw up humble pomme frites but here they excelled at them and even the aoli was home made!

We were passing through and found this place after consulting TA. Well to say we were very impressed would be not doing the place justice. Everything seemed to be produced in house apart from the wine and beer! For $100 we ate:
buffalo tatare, pork belly, beet and pumpernickel salad and a wonderful butterhorn bread pudding and 3 glasses of good vino. Sadly the scotch eggs were not on the menu....

Excellent new eatery in Downtown Bismarck. Upscale atmosphere with fine linen and appropriate glassware for each wine that was served. The menu is simple with a focus on organic ingredients and entree items that fit into what America's heartland embraces.

The service was friendly and quite helpful in selecting our appetizer/dinner choices. I started with the squash soap which was very creamy and tasted very fresh. I then had a beet salad which was very unique for me because the sliced beets were raw instead of cooked. For my entree I tried the short rib pasta. This was very delicious
