TMJ is an abbreviation for temper mandibular joint, and is used by many lay people to describe certain types of headache or jaw pain. Pain in the area in front of the ear, many times mistaken as an earache, may have its origin in the TMJ. The reason for this pain can vary and the treatments will depend upon the diagnosis.
Dentures replace teeth when all teeth have been lost. An immediate denture is sometimes possible and allows us to place a denture at the same time the lost teeth are extracted. Partial dentures are a removable appliance placed when some teeth remain. Partials and dentures perform much better when stabilized by implants.
These appliances are worn when sleeping. The snoring appliances are made to treat patients who snore and are not an attempt to treat apnea. Sleep apnea can be a severe problem contributing to other medical problems which shorten lives. These problems may include arterial damage, strokes, irregular heartbeats, obesity, and other sleep deprivation issues.
Dental implants are a stable and secure surgical option for replacing one or more missing teeth. Your dentist will surgically place metal posts in the bone under your gums. Your bone will gradually grow around the implant and a replacement tooth will be attached to the metal post. Dental implants can also be used to secure a crown or fixed dentures.

I love Central KY Dental. I have major dentist anxiety, but have had nothing but positive experiences as a patient here.
I started going here after Dr. Peavler agreed to see my husband on a busy Saturday because he was having major pain after having work done at another dental practice. Since then, we've been going here. Everybody is nice and the office is clean. I usually see Dr. Peavler but have also been examined by Dr. Powe. I really appreciate the entire staff for helping me feel comfortable at each visit.
