Dutton Estate Winery
The wines we craft at Dutton Estate Winery - from our care for the soil to our daily handwork in the vines and the thought we give to harvest, fermentation and blending - express our dedication to our distinctive corner of the Russian River. We are the sixth generation of the Dutton family to farm in Sonoma County.

We are committed to sustainable farming for future generations and elevating the quality of our wine every year. We share our love of the land and our commitment to land preservation through the distinct flavors in the glass. Our family is six generations of forward-thinking Sonoma County farmers. Joe and Tracy's agricultural heritage is deeply rooted in Sonoma County, and wanted that same experience for their three daughters.
Services
Bold red in the glass, the nose wafts of fragrant red fruit, predominantly cherry and plum, which gives way to essences of tobacco and leather. This wine fills the palate and follows through on cherry, plum, and a touch of berry on the finish. A lovely ruby in the glass. This Pinot Noir immediately presents exquisite aromas of cherry, cranberry, white pepper and an edge of sea air.
Our past is our future with this wine named for Joe's father, Warren Dutton. Warren was a pioneer of Chardonnay in the Russian River Valley and so we honor his commitment to the land with this wine from our oldest vines. The fruit for this wine is harvested from our original Shop Block Chardonnay vineyard, which was planted in 1967-truly history in a bottle!
Kylie's Cuvee is a family designation from our Sisters Selection and named for Joe and Tracy Dutton's middle daughter. The Shop Block Vineyard is known for higher acid fruit, which is softened during the fermentation and aging process. Aromas of pineapple and meadow grass prevail on the nose followed by hints of fresh guava.
The wine certainly lives up to the Berry Block name. Tons of fruit leap from the glass in the wine. Fresh Cherry, Strawberry, Blueberry and Boysenberry explode and make this wine one of a kind. Undertones of cherry pipe tobacco and soft leather help give the wine the layers of flavors needed in the special clone selection.
Named in honor of Tracy Dutton's father, the vineyard was planted in 2002 with the Syrah Noir Clone in the Santa Rosa Plains in Huichica Loam soil. This vineyard, one of the more than 80 that Dutton Ranch farms, is located in a low-lying elevation site with rolling hills and is the home of Tracy's parents, Paul and Carol.

Found Dutton on a wine tour and fell in love. Stopped by after another winery without a reservation and was greeted by Laurie who welcomed us in, even though it was 3:30 on Saturday.

She gave us the whole experience! Took her time telling us about each wine and their new cider! We felt taken care of and appreciated. Of course it didn't hurt that the wine and cider we smooth and delicious. The grounds are beautiful and it is quite peaceful sitting and tasting.

My mom and I both joined the wine club. Once I am released from another winders I belong to, I will increase my bottle subscription

Dutton Estate Winery is definitely a popular spot for many who visit the area and of course I was finally excited to try it.

While the visit was nice, I was left with a so-so wine experience. I will touch on the wine in a moment though. First things first, the property was a formal house turned into a tasting room, which is fun and offers many spots to hang out including a large outdoor area. The staff are quite charming and very welcoming and proud of what they serve. Price point, it is very competitive, both tasting experiences and wine offerings, so no surprises here. Where it lost some credit

This last weekend, we had a great experience at Dutton Estate Winery. It was a hot (!) day, and when we arrived, they offered to do the tasting in the air conditioned living room (although the gardens were lovely, and had it been even slightly cooler, I would have loved to be seated outside) Being an actual house, it very much felt like we were kicking back in a family living room. Mike greeted us with a smile, a little welcoming blackboard that said, "Welcome, Sarah", printed information on the flight we'd be tasting, and a cool pitcher of water. Mike was so warm, friendly and

Great Mother's Day in wine country have wanted to visit Dutton for some time as it's listed on many of the Chardonnay's we enjoy as a source ~ their own wines are fantastic, Laurie, who helped us was knowledgeable, local to the area and was able to answer all questions we had. Can't wait to visit again with the recommendations she gave us.

This is a family winery, and not the type of winery that has to put the word "family" on the label, as many others do for marketing purposes, because they are owned by a beverage conglomerate. They are family owned and the people who work there are locals who will treat you like family.
If your looking for a Napa-like experience, where millions of dollars are employed to make the tasting room more like a showroom to sport their $100+ wines, this isn't your place. But if you are looking for a more intimate and home spun - the tasting room is actually a house - afternoon, you&apos

Wonderful, modest sized winery with impeccable service, a beautiful location, great wines, the kind of place you want to stay and linger.

We had such a great time we bought two or three bottles... and opening them up, months later, we remembered our experience there and the wine was as good as we had remembered.

Pitiful. That’s the word to describe this attempt at wine.
Let me start by saying that Jenny was great. Amazing service!
The wine was comparable to the rest of the staff’s (owner’s daughters) personality.....mediocre and repulsive!
Their behavior cost them at least several hundred dollars. Save your time and go somewhere that wants your business!

Our hotel (Boon Hotel + Spa) recommended the food and wine pairing at Dutton Estate. They called and made us a reservation and we were in! (Our visit was on July 24th).

Dutton Estate is basically on the highway. When we arrived I was a little underwhelmed by the ambiance since we had just come from Iron Horse Vineyards. We were seated at an outside round table on the patio.

The gentleman pouring our wine was absolutely amazing. Literally, a one man show he was pouring wine for everyone on the property and racing up and down the stairs to make sure glasses were filled. Eventually, another girl

Ok, off the hook service and wines! Best chocolate and wine pairing that I have ever experienced, personally. Family run business and staff spent a lot of time explaining and detailing the wines. They had lovely grounds with both indoor and outdoor seating. Very kind to our elderly Chihuahua service dog. Did not taste a bad wine. Every wine we experienced was aromatic and had a phenomenal bouquet. We could have stayed for hours. We bought the Dutton Estate 2017 Kylie's Sauvignon Blanc and the 2016 Dutton Palms Vineyard Chardonnay. If money was no object, we would have bought a bottle of everything

Loved it here! My group of 5 came here on Dec 31. No reservation. Chris was our server and he was wonderful. I loved coming here because of the unique food and wine pairing. Usually, it's just wine and cheese but the food tastings were phenomenal.

The best part of Dutton Estate was learning that the three daughters all of K names - just like the Kardashians. In fact, two of them are named Kendall and Kylie. Hilarious. I bought the bottle of white wine named after Kylie in her honor. The biggest disappointment was that Chris spells his name with a "C" and not a "K" - seems

With so many wineries along route 116 in Sonoma, the competition is fierce and the fun is plenty. During the recent fall wine club weekend it was Dutton Estate Winery that received my self-appointed best-overall award. It was the most beautifully decorated, friendliest, best paired wine & food, tastiest food, and most important...(drum roll)...best wine! All of the Dutton Estate Wines are excellent--a statement this wine aficionado does not often make! We were so impressed with their Warren's Collection Chardonnay and Manzana Vineyard Pinot Noir that, despite it being our first stop, we

They participated in the Wine Barrel Event 2017. Lovely lovely decors and presentation of their place. They have their fancy airstream up front to welcome you with barrel tasting of their wines. And one of the highlights is their new apple cider paired with apple chips and brie.
Then we head inside to the tasting room. WoW. It was a cute house. Very welcoming. Their Pinot Noir was paired with a meatball. Their late harvest syrah was paired with chocolate chips cookies. The pricing didn't change if you buy a case.
It was a very pretty place. Family owned. You can see pictures of the families
