Our Preschools have been established and educating children for over 20 years. We provide children with a well rounded education program and families a sense of ease knowing their children are cared for with love and professionality. Our Curriculum for this school year is play based. A play based curriculum helps the children problem solve, critically think, use strategy while interacting with others and learn hands on through playing.
Services
Our school is a family ran daycare, preschool and infant center. Harbor Learning Center Schools operate in 2 locations, Sewaren and Port Reading. Our schools have a private curriculum generated in house to stimulate all learners to their best ability. We provide children with a well rounded educational experience that will prepare them for their next academic step.
Harbor Learning Center schools take pride to ensure our infants are cared for daily in the most professional and loving way. Our caregivers communicate with parents about the milestones their infant has made. Our program consists of feeding, diapering, tummy time, songs, visuals, and small challenges to help children in crawling, walking, and fine motor.
Children learn well when they are mentally active, engaged, social, and can make meaningful connections to their lives, which are all characteristics of play. Neuroscientists have found that play activates the brain in meaningful ways that rote memorization, testing, worksheets, and traditional classroom techniques do not.
The relationship between the kids are amazing. They love each other and make sure they say 'hi' and 'bye' which most adults can't even do. The level of equality and inclusion is great. The time your teachers take to do special projects with the kids - like all of the creative hand and footprints. That's a lot to take on, but oh so very much appreciated.
Jessica has over 26 years experience in early childhood education. While working at home teaching children, she also managed Boston Market at the young age of 18. Jessica's parents opened and operated, Learning Junction, in 2000. Jessica started working there in 2002. Teaching for all types of age groups throughout her career, Jessica then became Supervisor of The Learning Junction.

They are the best. My daughter has been going here the last 4 years. First for pre k and now for before and after care. She’s grown and learned so much. The staff is the best, management is so kind and personable. And they have the most creative celebrations and activities for the kids. Our son just had his first day, Miss. Karen made it so easy on him and us! thanks Lindsay and team ⭐️
