C & C Wine Service
Hook & Ladder Winery continues the legacy of one of Russian River Valley's most influential wine families. Founded in 2003 by pioneering growers and vintners Cecil and Christine De Loach, and helmed today by their grandson, winemaker Jason De Loach, Hook & Ladder showcases the diversity of the appellation the family helped to define, in a portfolio of limited-production bottling's from their Russian River Valley estate vineyards.

In 1970, San Francisco firefighter Cecil De Loach, and his wife Christine, purchased the prized Barbieri Ranch in Russian River Valley's coveted Olivet Road district. Both came armed with advanced degrees in anthropology but no background in farming or grape growing. That said, they had long dreamt of finding land their family could own and work together.
Services
Hook & Ladder's estate vineyards occupy some of the most coveted and historic sites in the Russian River Valley, many originally farmed in the late 1800's by early Italian immigrants who recognized the area's unique potential for producing premium cool climate wine grapes. The De Loach family also owns the 132-acre Los Amigos Ranch in Chalk Hill, an esteemed sub-appellation of the Russian River Valley.
We are thrilled to have you in our club family. As a member, you are now able to experience the Russian River Valley "RRV", Hook & Ladder style, through exceptional wines, lively winery events and many special offerings. Our Wine Club shipments are processed in February, May, September, and November.
We at Hook & Ladder Vineyards and Winery are proud to be a part of the amazing fabric that makes Sonoma County one of the most amazing places on earth. Our Community has shown an unwavering support for us over the years and our ownership and staff enjoys nothing more than the opportunity to give back.
Wine Club members receive complimentary or discounted tastings for the member and up to three additional guests. 24-hour cancellation notice is required. Tasting fee's will not be refunded if cancellation occurs within 24 hours of scheduled time of arrival. Nestled among some of the oldest vines in the region, on Russian River Valley's historic Olivet Road, Hook & Ladder's rustic tasting barn is open daily for wine tasting and tours.

Visited during Winter Wineland 2022. Our 6th year doing wine road winter wineland and just did the Sunday one day option and due to Covid had to make reservations for set times at 4 wineries: Foppiano, Orsi family, Landmark Hop Kiln, Hook and Ladder.

This was our favorite of the 4 and hostess Bobbi made it for us. She was very enthusiastic and generous with her wine pouring. The setting is beautiful and we would love to return with a picnic. We bought a bottle of Chardonnay and Sangiovese. Highly recommend!

Amazing winery: great location, venue, and wines. There are many different bubbles, whites, and reads so it's easy to find something for everyone. Also, part of their wine club proceeds go to charities (we opted for the 1st responders club), so not only do you get wine, but you're giving back! We always go at least twice when we are in town.

Another amazing experience at Hook and Ladder! So fun to be post Covid, seeing all the people and families enjoying this extraordinary outdoor setting amidst the vineyards! So gorgeous. Randy, our very fun and exceptional wine pourer, provided one of the best Sonoma experiences we have had. That's saying a lot since we have had MANY great experiences in Sonoma's amazing wine country. Watching Devin, Maureen, Lisa and the entire team serve with smiles on their unmasked faces was sheer joy! The wines were (and always are!) exquisite! We love this place!

My wife and I came for a tasting on a weekday. We had excellent service and loved the wine. Their sparking gewursteminer and chalk hill
cabernet sauvignon were my favorite. We will be back again in the future.

Great, well priced wines with a good selection of whites & reds. Excellent value for the price. Very chill atmosphere for tastings. We belong to the wine club and love doing tastings outside. The staff is very friendly and we always feel welcome. This is a club where I always enjoy the wines we open weeks later, so we stick with this club. The winery was founded by a firefighter, and I believe they still contribute to the fire department. One of my favorites.

H&L's staff are what make being members at this place worth it. They and their wines are fantastic "to infinity and beyond".
Additionally, they've taken the pandemic seriously and made it feel safe. That has been a huge plus during this past year.

This was one of the most fun, laid-back wine tastings I've experienced in Sonoma County. Delicious wines, a lovely patio, and friendly and knowledgeable staff made this a wonderful experience.

It was easy to make a reservation for my party of 3 online. When we arrived, we were seated on the charming patio where tables were spaced nicely apart. Our pourer was a damn delight -- I couldn't decide between the red or white flight, so she poured me some of both! She answered all of our questions about wine and even gave us some bonus pours. It was quite a generous wine tasting! Hook and Ladder

The wine is superb, just like the service from the staff. I love the dedication to giving back to the firefighter and military community. I'm an Army veteran and was pleasantly surprised when they offered to cover my tasting fee. That was unexpected and much appreciated. Definitely check out the winery's four rows series. Their attention to detail makes for a great set of varietals, especially their Cab Franc...my favorite!

One of my best wine tasting experiences to date! Our host (I didn’t catch his name, unfortunately) was exuberant and friendly and knowledgeable and totally goofy in a charming and fun way, and every other employee I interacted with was also very open and friendly. Even though our covid-era tasting had to be behind the fermentation tanks on the crush pad, the atmosphere was comfortable and lovely. What I saw of the rest of their property is gorgeous!
And, of course, every single wine was fantastic (which is uncommon – usually I like about half of the wines at any given winery). The pours were

Enjoyed all of the wine. Very hot day so it was difficult to enjoy the experience, of course, this is not the fault of any employee. Very busy day, we had a pleasant server who offered and extra taste of a Chardonnay. We purchased two bottles and one tasting fee was waived. I would like to come back when we can go inside and enjoy the grounds more.

On a whim, we decided to go wine tasting today. While Hook & Ladder is 5 minutes away from us, we have never been. Huge mistake on our part. While under COVID rules, we started our tasting outside. They have beautiful grounds, with bistro and picnic tables set up. There is an old fire truck to check out. There is also a bocce ball court. We were told, it can be used if we bring our own balls.

We started with a separate wine and red flight. My wife and daughter whites, me red. Eventually they kind of blended together. A bizarre storm, with thunder and lightning, rolled through. So plans quickly

We happened upon Hook & Ladder as they were the only winery with a 5 o'clock seating on a Thursday in the area. Lisa took our reservation over the phone and was awesome (in person as well). No knock to Lisa but Randy stole the show. He greated us by matching my girlfriend's dance moves as we walked up. The pours were generous, the knowledge of wine was fantastic and Randy was just genuinely one of the most interesting people I've ever met. We were fascinated to hear his stories. He would try and walk away and apologize for talking so much but I couldn't get enough. He was amazing!

It’s rare to find people doing what they love at work. Happy people = good tasting wine? In this case, definitely yes. They make a sustainable wine using compost made from grapes, and plants with deep roots that can take water from deep down in the earth. Wish they used a vegan emulsifier to clarify the wine though. In any case, we had an amazing experience. It’s a very family friendly place.

An unassuming winery makes a huge impression! Hook & Ladder graciously let us hold our fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Working with Devin was delightful and he made it so easy for us. The venue is lovely- not pretentious at all, yet beautiful offering a view of their vineyards and gorgeous sunsets. The guests had a blast playing corn hole & bocce there.
I was super impressed with their wines. I typically do not enjoy Chardonnay, however theirs was exceptional! The red Cabernet blend Station 10 was superb.
I know that not only will I become a regular at Hook & Ladder

I have only praise for this amazing little winery. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left we were treated like family! The gentlemen helping us was very knowledgeable and willing to help us find something that we liked. While I enjoy the whites, my boyfriend loves the reds so we had a nice balance of things. It wasn't too busy and the outside grounds were perfect to hang out and relax at. This was my first time wine tasting and I think the bar was set rather high! We felt so taken care of and welcomed! I couldn't say better things about this place and I hope to come back in

WOW! So, Hook and Ladder was our second stop at Napa Valley, and my family and I were beyond impressed.
Everyone who worked there was so friendly and welcoming. I personally like rose and white wines (sweeter, lighter wines), and my parents prefer reds. The staff did an amazing job catering to our personal interests and likes. They went off the sampling menu so that we could try wines that they thought we would enjoy more based on how we described our taste palate.

The 2017 Rose of Pinot Noir was my clear-cut favorite of the tasting and has also become my favorite wine in general since. After

I don't even know where to start to express my love for all things Hook and Ladder! We hosted a small group there on a Friday afternoon and it was beyond perfect. The winery is easy to find, close enough to Santa Rosa that you don't waste time in the car and the winery is beautiful! And fun!! I mean, bocce ball?! Yes, please.

Devin was incredible to work with and my husband is a firefighter, so we extra loved the vibe. The wine was also great! (The Tillerman and the Cab Franc were favs of everyone!)

Can't wait to come here again! It's great for groups or couples! Highly recommend

Hook and Ladder will definitely get you "hooked" on their delicious white wines! I'm a red wine drinker at heart, but the Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer that I had here just simply blew me away.

This adorable winery is located along the Olivet road wine trail in a quaint little area of Santa Rosa. This was the first stop during our Russian River Valley wine tour and it definitely set the bar for all of the other wineries that we visited in the area. The exterior has a rustic barn-like feel with gorgeous views of their vineyards and the surrounding Russian River Valley.

Part of the western Santa Rosa winery patch, Hook and Ladder attracts many due to its firefighter focused winery. Getting to Hook and Ladder is not too difficult and it honestly is a short drive from the major city of Santa Rosa hosting quite a bit of parking. As for the grounds, they are quite large, but do not expect over elaborate grounds that you may have experienced at many other upscale wineries. They do offer a nice patio though where they host wine club parties or you can grab a bottle and enjoy the nice views of the vineyards.

The actual tasting room is the jewel of the property as they
