You follow the winery through the rows of the vines, waiting for the optimal moment to pick. You sense the shiver the farm workers have as they delicately hand pick each cluster in the early morning of the harvest day.
Our Winemaker protects the clusters through sorting, crushing, fermenting and pressing. You smell the barrels he selected and feel the serenity of years soaking in the wood. Mike was bitten by the wine bug as a young child in his fathers garage and has never looked back. Earning a degree in enology at UC Davis, as a Junior in college Mike was asked to be the assistant winemaker at Trefethen, he spent several years in Napa before moving to Sonoma County. Passionate about every aspect of winemaking, Mike is at home in the cellar.

Really fantastic tasting experience! Nicole is SO nice and knowledgable. We had a great time with her and learned a lot--and she threw in a present for us at the end of our appointment ;) Also, their entire range of wines is delicious. We made three tasting stops on this trip and Optima blew everything else out of the water. 5 stars!!!
