Services
Maternity photography are usually taken between 30-34 weeks in term. I utilize my studio to create an editorial gallery with maternity gown options in various sizes. Option to photography outdoors in designated Portland metro locations are also an option in our favorite seasons. You are more than welcome to include your family, siblings and doggos too of course!
Baby milestones is part of your baby's first year journey. I do my best to showcase your baby in a neutral-tone setting and document those chubby feet, drools and their adventurous nature. Cake smashes are another most popular session in the studio where babies have photos done in their fancy outfit before smashing their first cake experience.
Family photo shoots are designed to be fun, not stuffy! I enjoy capturing the candid moments of each family member just being exactly as they are. I don't ask your children to smile, but I will try to get some laughter and action photos too. I have designated outdoor locations to be photographed in and session time will depend on the season.
Chemo and radiation was to immediately take place, a case study for a rare form of cancerous diagnosis. I am a survivor today and I now dedicate my work to spoil as many babies with the utmost satisfying studio experience. Session fees start from at $175 depending on the session type. Session fee includes prop usage, client wardrobe access, shooting time, one ordering appointment and reveal videos.

This review should have been written a long time ago, but here it is now. Josie has been photographing our growing family for almost 4 years. She has captured the most precious moments of both our kids' milestones, as well as many other moments in our lives. She is so gentle with babies and kids. My son was a bit of a challenge in his toddler years, but she was always able to get him to cooperate and have fun during the shoots. She's an amazing artist. I can't imagine having anyone else capture these life moments. She's our photographer for life. Thank you Josie, you are amazing!

After having 4 babies, I knew this was going to be my final (5th) baby and I wondered if I'd regret not having a personal visual representation of pregnancy (after having spent such a large portion of my "young" life dedicated to this intense physical experience). I talked with my husband and decided to take pictures, but I was very nervous. I gave a maternity and newborn shoot to my daughter and her family. (But knew they would also be treasured photographs for me, the grandmother, so a selfishly a gift to myself as well!)
I looked at the websites of a lot of photographers around the Portland area to find someone whose style was creative but not kitchsy, and whose skill as a photographer clearly showed.
I'm so glad we found Josie.
She is a truly gifted photographer. Her eye for composition and ways to set up poses that highlighted the family and showed so much emotional content without being "too cute" was just what I wanted!

Josie was wonderful to work with. She was very understanding with our wild 2 year old running around the studio and she amazed me at getting a photo of my 2 year old and newborn together, even if it took a little photoshop. Josie handled our baby with great care and kept him content the entire shoot. Her work is absolutely beautiful and we are excited to use her again for future shoots.

Josie is an amazing photographer! We couldn't be happier with how our family photos turned out. She had a wardrobe of clothes for myself and toddler. She had toys to put our daughter at ease in a new environment and also brought her a toy when she delivered the photos to our home. I can't wait to call her again next year!

Josie did both my maternity photo shoot and my newborn photoshoot. These photos are so beautiful and magical. She captured such a special time in my life and in the life of my newborn son. We had the most incredible session with Josie at Sunny Melon photography. She is a baby whisperer! I had no idea the photo session itself would be so enjoyable. We watched her make gorgeous photo tableau's with our little Sienna, calm her down expertly and the baby slept through the entire session! I could not believe how amazing the photos turned out. There are at least 20 photos (or more) that could easily be made into amazing wall photos for our home and grandparents. I wish we had more wall space! As a new parent we didn't think much into newborn pictures until we had a newborn in our hands. I was worried that we had waited to long to make an appointment to take newborn photos even though I had been looking at photos from Sunnymelon for a while now. At the last minute I emailed Sunnymelon to make an appointment, Josie was super quick to respond and was able to fit us into her schedule the next day. Josie is such a wonderful photographer and came highly recommended! It is always so awkward for my husband and I to take pictures, but she made us feel so comfortable and our pictures turned out great. Her communication was always super quick and replied to us almost always within an hour or much less! I also need to mention that she is a soldier and a woman of her word! She had been fighting the flu but I would have had no idea during our session. She's so professional and incorporated all of our random props. Me and my small little family enjoyed our mini session with Josie! She is wonderful with my newborn. As a new mom, she even showed me a few tips on keeping my baby calm. During the shoot she also gave us great instructions on poses. The next day, I received an email from her with the photos ready for me to view. She is fast, professional and her work is amazing!! Josie recently shot some photos of me to give to by fiancé as a wedding gift. I should first start by saying that I am extremely picky when it comes to photographers and In particular their editing styles. As a graphic designer myself, I know the look of a poorly executed touch up.
