In 1968, Air Van, Inc began operations in Atlanta, Georgia. Herb Matthews and Lex Benton were in the trucking industry and saw the need for final mile delivery of air freight in Atlanta and Jacksonville, Florida. Air Cargo International (ACI) was a company with franchised locations to provide final mile delivery under their managed structure.
