Our Halau focuses on teaching not just the Polynesian dances, but to make a connection between dancer, spirit, and culture. It is our purpose to bring out the essence of the true meaning behind the dances of Hawai'i and Tahiti. We embrace everyone who has a love of the Hawaiian and Tahitian culture.
We hope to expand our knowledge and creative capacity in the years to come as a sign of our love of this culture and to leave a lasting legacy to our dancers. Puahi has been teaching both Hula and Tahitian dance and culture in the Temecula Valley since 1995. Beginning teaching lessons out of her home, the students began to grow and we moved to a studio in Temecula.

I was first introduced to Puahi's at their annual luau fundraiser in Menifee. It was not only an amazing show, but really celebrated the Polynesian culture. The performances were amazing and the show was interactive. The drum circle provided a lot of energy. I heard more than one guest say that they felt transported to Hawaii. The luau had some wonderful raffle prizes, food, and decorations. Each year I buy more and more tickets to the fundraiser. We can't wait for next years show. I would absolutely recommend! It's fun for all ages.

Absolutely love puahi's the owner is the sweetest lady in the world! The studio is clean, and the dancers range from about age 5 to adult. They have several classes for each age group and even have classes for boys! This is an all around fun family business that teaches such a beautiful art with many more learning opportunities such as lay and headress making, drum classes etc... The fun never ends with Puahi's. I absolutely love it.

You really feel the Aloha as you enter the studio. I have been with Puahis 17 years my kids and now my granddaughter have danced here. I have traveled with this group and competed several times. I am forever a student here learning enjoying every moment. Its such a great place to bring the family to learn about culture, dance, drumming, and aloha. I am now learning to drum so always something fun and exciting to look forward to at Puahi’s.

We joined Puahi's back in 2012 and have been there ever since! My daughter expressed an interest in learning Polynesian dance after her first trip to Hawaii. She fell in love with the islands & it's culture. During our time at this studio we have made so many lasting friendships and have become so close. Everyone is so kind and welcoming and showing the true Aloha spirit. Not only has my daughter learned great traditional Hula & Tahitian but she has taken classes in fresh flower lei making, ukulele & traditional Hawaiian language. You can also take drumming lessons and there

I'm so Happy we found Puahi's Polynesian Dance Co.. I signed-up my granddaughter to dance here three years ago & she just Loves it! I am originally from Hawai'i (Oahu) & am very happy we found Puahi's. I was looking for a Halau that not only teach all the different types of Hula, but also educated the meaning of each dance my granddaughter learned, and the Culture. Tahitian is now her favorite, so she'll be taking Tahitian workshop classes again starting this Tuesday at Puahi's. They have performed at many different venues such as Disneyland, San Diego&apos

If you're looking for a halau with plenty of Aloha spirit and a true sense of 'ohana this is the place for you! Our Kumu, Brenda, is phenomenal! She has a genuine love for the Hawaiian and Tahitian cultures and is always gathering as much knowledge and experience as she can to then pass on to her students. We have tons of fun in class but there is also extreme respect for the dances that we learn. I am in the Makuahine class (30+) and we have lots of dancers in this class with plenty of room for more!

I scheduled a private group lesson for a bachelorette party earlier this month and it was such an enjoyable experience! For about an hour and a half lesson, we each paid $20 which was extremely reasonable considering everything we got (all of us got cute leis made of shells to keep along with flower clips). Brenda thought up of the idea to teach us the Hawaiian Wedding Song and we also got to sample Tahitian dancing. It's definitely a lot more challenging than it looks or perhaps that's just because my coordination isn't so great. ^.^; You can definitely work up a sweat! Almost all

Yes, Temecula is far, but it was worth the weekly drive from Escondido to get my hula on.
It's a nice studio, with nice bright lighting, decent amount of floor space, and wall to wall mirrors. Brenda, the proprietor/teacher has more than a decade of experience and is quite breathtaking to watch. She's a very graceful dancer, and a patient teacher.
There weren't too many people my age taking the class. Most students in the intermediate level were in high school, and those in the beginner's level were in their early to middle 40's so it kind of made bonding with any
