Van (pronounced "Vun") believes that when people retain the firm to represent them, it is our job to do just that - to represent their ideals and goals. To do this effectively, Van believes in a team approach and encourages full participation from clients.

She has discovered that when people are given the opportunity to participate in the process, they have a much better understanding of what's going on and thus, are able to make better decisions.Do not lie to the court. It would be hard to find a lawyer who would advise otherwise. Most judges have seen it all and heard it all.
With her knowledge of immigration and family law, she helped me a lot with my custody case. She kept me well informed about everything and gave me advices of what was best to do. I am very happy with job. Thank you so much Ms. I am glad that I had Ms Doan as my attorney for my complicated immigration & divorce case.
In any given month, Van can usually be spotted helping out at community outreach events organized by non-profit organizations, universities, or the bar association. When she is not out and about, she may be counseling walk-in clients at either the Maryland Immigrant Rights Coalition (MIRC) at the University of Maryland School of Law in Baltimore, MD, or at the Association of Vietnamese Americans in Silver Spring, MD.
2016 American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Pro Bono Champion - recognized by the DC Chapter of AILA as a true champion of pro bono and a professional exemplar. In appreciation of her great work and commitment to increasing access to justice for the immigrant community.

2015 Judge Robert M. Positive: Professionalism, Quality
Van has certainly changed my complete and utter disdain for all lawyers. She genuinely cared about my case and fought well on my behalf to reach a positive resolution. Attorney Doan's immigration and overall legal acumen was certainly up to my high standards. I just wish I had found her sooner.

Although I did not retain Van as my immigration attorney, but only had a paid one-hour consultation, her assessment of my case and advice saved my case! I was in my I-751 application for about one and a half year when I also applied for my US citizenship in March 2019. I very much hoped that I would have my citizenship interview before January 2020, when I will have to go back to my home country because I took a job there. The attorney who I retained suggested that I withdrew my N400 application because she did not think that it would be possible for the case to be proceeded that fast, particularly

I was referred to Ms.Van Doan by another Lawyer who believed that Ms. Doan was better suited for the legal issues I needed resolved. Ms. Doan decided to take my case and she did not disappoint! She is thorough in every since of the word. She took a somewhat difficult case in terms of determining the outcome, and made it seem easy in the courtroom giving me a win against the odds. I would highly recommend Ms.Van Doan to anyone who desires to get the best representation for their money.

Van kept me at ease as we had a frank discussion regarding my case. She was honest forthright and clear with her opinions. She is more interested in her client's success then a check. She conducted herself professionally and with poise. I was able to ask any question regarding my case. Van sets the bar high for her services, but she delivers. She asks the same for her clients, don't lie, don't exaggerate, tell the truth, and trust in Mrs. Doan and everything will work out
Thank you Van for your guidance
