Services
We offer dozens of battery bucket locations throughout Porter County where you can bring your household batteries for recycling. The Recycling & Waste Reduction District sponsors a number of household hazardous waste collection events each year. Special events create a lot of waste, but you can make a difference in the environment by providing recycling opportunities.
All cities and towns in Porter County, excluding Dune Acres, provide curbside collection for their residents. However, apartments, condos and most other multifamily dwellings in Porter County must contract with a waste hauler for services. The residents of unincorporated Porter County as well as Dune Acres must individually contract with private waste haulers for curbside service.
