Services
Merrillville Metal Recycling buys ferrous and non-ferrous metals. We pay for these materials based on weight; ferrous scrap metals, which are not only iron and iron-based steel items, but also magnetic, are priced by the ton. Non-ferrous scrap metals - which include aluminum, copper, brass, and other specialty metals - are priced by the pound.
Aluminum recycling is prevalent everywhere, and used beverage container recycling is the most recognized of all the scrap metal recycling initiatives. Cars, window frames, electronics, wire tubing, building parts, and electronics are all sources of aluminum recycling. More than $700 million worth of aluminum cans are thrown away every year in the U.S. alone.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Me and my husband came in and he was on crutches like most scrap yards you unload yourself but a young lady and another young man stopped everything they were doing and unloaded our truck for us. My husband was in awe that a young lady was working a in a scrap yard. As a Merrillville native it’s nice to still see “equal opportunity” employment in our an industrial work setting.
