The inventory is amazing and quite diverse but the owner/associate is hostile and made me feel extremely uncomfortable.
1) As of 12/19/21, there is no mirror in the fitting room, which forces you to try on clothes that may or may not fit well in front of complete strangers. I made an offhanded comment to my friend about this, and the owner/associate chimed in that the wall wasn't smooth, so a mirror couldn't be mounted. And by chimed in, I mean, in a confrontational tone, saying "you might notice the wall isn't smooth, so...etc. etc." I sincerely doubt some semblance of

If you love vintage, this is the place!! I found two cooool jackets from the 80’s (one of them pictured here) that are spectacular and will be making their appearances at Christmas AND New Year’s parties! Check out their graphic socks, too! I wanted a dozen pairs! The staff was super sweet, as well. I’ll be back!

This might be my favorite store in nyc so far! I never leave reviews but had to, bc I've seen some reviews mentioning the workers being rude to people, especially poc. That was not my experience at all. Maybe there was a misunderstanding, but I am black and my s/o is Korean and they were extremely friendly, helpful, and chill. The worker with glasses and colored hair (mentioned in other comments) was there and she greeted us and was super cool!! Don't let any negative comments steer you away, the clothes are sooo cute!

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Every time I'm in NYC it's my go-to destination! The T-shirts are awesome-and seriously a price point for everyone! I've gotten so many unique ones that have received lots of compliments! The staff is awesome. Every time I've popped in-someone has been friendly and helpful and kind. I also love checking out their accessories and smaller more inexpensive items in the back area -as they always make great gifts for family & friends while I'm traveling. All in all, a personal NYC fav. Great vibes, beautifully curated items, and a super fun and helpful

Staff starting talking about customers as soon as they left the store (and the store is small) little did they know the customers they were talking about was my brother and his fiancé. They stepped out the store because they felt unwelcomed I stayed around to look at more clothes and they started talking about them as soon as they left. Would not recommend this place. You need to hire a better staff because I have seen multiple reviews from customers of POC (as we also were) reporting how rude the employees are. The sad thing was we were excited to visit this place and the people there just made

Once you open the door & walk into this fun,funky store, you'll feel what the 80's/90's were about. Filled with so many amazing items from that time, you could spend hours shopping. I love going there, the staff is lovely, fun & very helpful. I'm always recommending this store & the people that have gone just rave about it! Take the time to experience this very special place on 9th Street in the East Village.
I would also like to add, that I have always felt safe during Covid whenever I've been there.They have hand sanitizer available, as you walk in & everyone

AVOID THIS PLACE. Like someone mentioned, worker with the glasses and colored hair is rude and condescending. As a POC, not a safe space to be in. There's a way to get a point across without rolling your eyes and being pretentious.
Edit: Just read that another POC had a weird conversation with an employee as well. Glad I wasn't the only feeling the negative energy. Invest in a business that is friendly, respectful, and not... racist?!

The clothes and accessories are super fun and vibrant, but the woman who was working was incredibly rude and condescending to my friend and I during my most recent visit. As a returning customer who has purchased many items from Spark Pretty in the past, it was insulting. We were told not to “play dress up” despite seriously considering purchasing a couple pieces. How is that any way to speak to a polite customer? Super disappointing. Won’t be returning.

This place has such cute, eclectic items! I was so excited about their dresses but especially their denim and jackets. I came here on a Sunday and was ready to spend $$ for a tv job. Unfortunately the two girls that were working on 11/22 were so rude. I ended up walking out because of their attitude.

I love this verrrrrry fun shop ! The gals running it are always friendly, helpful, lots of good energy. I've shopped there for a couple of years, and bought a few tops, skirts, and dresses that I could never find elsewhere.
While they do usually have a sales rack, I do not think of it as a thrift shop at all. And, to my mind, vintage is not 90s, but rather 50s/60s, but that just shows how old I am ! Still, their styles are pure fun and curated so well. Definitely worth a visit any time.

NYC's greatest hidden treasure. Good vibes, hip sales associates and crazy thrift clothes! I've been thrifting since I can remember and I always buy something when I go in this store, check out their ECom site too! This store has the best visual merchandising I've ever seen and even if you don't have a crazy style it's fun just to go in and walk around all the madness.

I will say this store has a very unique interior design. They really stuck with the 80s/90s theme well. BUT the employees seemed racist. I walked in with my sister just to see the store. We get NO greeting at all, the lady just continues her conversation. No acknowledgement, nothing. Around 3 minutes later she finally notices & greets us. What type of customer service?
Now for the actual stuff. Save your time/money & just go to no relation or any of the other thrifts there. The items were overpriced and ugly. If you have the money just go to an actual luxury consignment like the ones down

Went in here on a humbug because I was looking for a thrift store, preferably vintage. Got here, store is super cute and small, but filled with lots of authentic vintage goodies. I was the only person in the store at the time, the saleswoman was helpful. She did, however, ask more than once every time I had something in my hand if she could hold it for me (I think she didn't want a black girl standing in the store with them :/) but anyway, got two new items to add to my closet. Mostly larger sizing in t-shirts, barely any smalls. Overall a cute little store.

To be fair, I've only dealt directly with the shop's owner, Amanda, and she could not be more lovely, energetic, and fun; a genuine burst of glitter in human form.
Thus far, I've purchased two Tony Alamos and some tees from the store. Amanda has never pressured me to purchase anything. In fact, I've been distinctly impressed that she's given me honest feedback about potentially buying a few things that just didn't work on me.

OMG the cutest vintage shop I have ever been to. Such good finds! I ended up buying a pair of shorts, and a jacket. They have really cool clothing and at great prices. The girl at the store was very nice and helped me with the clothes I picked out. Great customer service. Just the decorations in this store are awesome. Take pics, and buy some clothes!

This store is so fun! The staff was extremely nice and asked questions while offering suggestions. The design of the store is flawless and you feel like you're walking back in time to the 90's. They have a variety of items with varying prices. Though they are on the expensive side with a lot of the items. Will for sure be back!
