Services
Family law issues can be extremely complex and emotionally charged. If you are facing a family law matter such as a divorce or child custody dispute, it is important to consult with an attorney who understands the intricacies of Utah family law, and can protect your rights and interests.

At the law offices of Kristopher K. Greenwood & Associates, we handle a wide range of family law matters for clients from the Salt Lake City area and throughout Utah. Our attorneys will fight tirelessly to help you achieve your legal goals while helping you pave the way for a financially stable future.
One household becomes two after a divorce, and some spouses often face an uncertain financial future after the marriage ends. In some cases, one spouse may be ordered to pay alimony to another, if certain circumstances apply. If you need legal guidance for an alimony-related issue after a divorce, the attorneys at the law offices of Kristopher K. Greenwood & Associates are here to offer legal guidance and advocacy.
Alimony is forever - or is it? In many cases, people are ordered by the Court to pay alimony for years and years into the future. In most cases, this can amount to thousands and thousands of dollars being paid out to an ex-spouse. Understanding alimony, how it works, and how it can be terminated is critical!
Dating relationships often blossom and turn into cohabitation. Cohabitation is a very hot topic in Utah right now and can dramatically affect your alimony or spousal support order. Under Utah law, alimony may permanently terminate if it is demonstrated that the recipient is cohabiting with a new partner.
Divorce can be a nasty process. However, in certain circumstances, the state of Utah offers an alternative option in the form of an annulment. At the law offices of Kristopher K. Greenwood & Associates, our attorneys can weigh the aspects of your marriage to determine whether you qualify for an annulment and help prepare you for court proceedings.

Can’t say enough about my experience at Kristopher K. Greenwood & Associates specifically Ally Jamerson. Never met someone with so much overall knowledge. Absolutely brilliant and I could really tell she cared about my situation. She went above and beyond. A lot of people say, “Is it worth getting an attorney?” If you have someone like Ally I would… say over and over it is. What she was able accomplish in minimal time was shocking. Thank you Kristopher K. Greenwood & Associates for being so great to work with and even more thanks for Ally being incredible!

Christopher Ross was well-versed, knowlegable, helpful, & understanding. He guided my family through every step of the way & he made sure I understood everything that was happening. I felt advocated for & that my case was presented with thought & care even with a very short window of time. All this was no easy feat given I was over 2000 miles away & all but an hour was done remote. His staff was just as helpful & ready to assist in any way they could.

Kris was amazing. So helpful. From the day I spoke with him during the consultation, I felt so much better knowing that someone who was competent and knew "the system" was there to advise me. Kris was able to frame the severity of the charges, the possible outcomes, the lingering affects of taking a plea, and the accurately represented the… mindset and deliberations of the prosecutor. This lead to a course of action that compelled the prosecutor to drop the charges. Very thankful that Kris was on the job!
And a piece of advice...if you're ever charged for catching the the wrong fish, get

I had an urgent legal need, and my first call was to Kristopher K. Greenwood & Associates. I was connected to speak with Rand right away. He answered all of my questions, explained my legal rights, explained how my case would proceed, and immediately made a game plan on how to deal with my stressful situation. Had I not worked with him, the outcome would have been vastly different.

It was a pleasure working with Christopher Ross and Tessa Baumann. I was going through a multi state divorce that i couldn’t finalized over 1.5 years in between 2 back to back deployments . I called and spoke with Christopher Ross during my consultation. He displayed empathy towards the situation and took the case with confidence. Once hired him… to represent me, not only did he work with me, but he also worked for what was in my best interest. He explained all my options and what would work best for me. He kept me informed of every step and responded very quickly to my calls and emails

Kris Greenwood has been my only positive experience in dealing with many attorneys in the last 10 years of my life. He is very genuine and truly cares about his clients rights and needs. He is always there to help clarify the road ahead and all possible outcomes. He is very descriptive and helps his clients feel at ease, which helps a great deal… in trusting his work. Kris works very hard behind the scenes to not burden the client with overwhelming documentation. My life was overran with stress and despair before switching over to Kris. My first meeting with him I knew he wasn’t just

I used this firm for a custody issue and barely interacted with my lawyer. I ended up coming to an agreement with my ex and wrote the agreement and had my ex sign it. I sent it to my lawyer and asked for them to file with courts. All they had to do is lay it into a court document, work to get it resigned by my ex and file it. I did the majority of work myself, making the agreement happen on my own. I basically paid $2k for this firm to do paperwork. And even then, they made me pay for the e-mail time where I pointed out spelling errors they were making in the legal document. I got charged for their

I can’t tell you how appreciative I am. And I don’t know what I would’ve done without Kris Greenwood in my corner. Kris is a calm, insightful and brilliant advocate for his clients — literally creating miracles others didn’t think possible. When others failed, my family even advised me to stop because of safety issues, and no one else believed… —yet, Kris did an amazing job. Such brilliance and professional humanity combined Is a rarity. I’m absolutely grateful to have been referred to him by a past client. (His Team is amazing as well -thank you
