Rob was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Rob began his legal career as a trial lawyer at his father's law firm of, Cartwright, Slobodin, Bokelman, Borowsky, Wartnick, Moore & Harris, Inc. He founded his own practice in 1996, and The Cartwright Law Firm, Inc., as it currently exists, has been together since 2001.
Dave Yen graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 2003, receiving his J.D. While in law school, he participated in the Thad E. Hutcheson Moot Court Competition and American Trial Lawyers Association Mock Trial Tournament, achieving honors in both. He was also an active member of the Asian American Law Students Association and represented indigent clients accused of misdemeanors in the Criminal Defense Clinic.

Yesterday, after contacting another "top rated" law firm first, only to be summarily dismissed by a partner as "getting into something I don't want to", I decided to brush off the diss and give the Cartwright firm a chance.
