Placer County was home to the peaceful Nisenan Native Americans for hundreds of years before the discovery of gold in 1848 brought hordes of miners from around the world. Placer County took its name from the Spanish word for sand or gravel deposits containing gold. Miners washed away the gravel, leaving the heavier gold, in a process known as "placer mining."

Cyndi Hurst of Hurst Home Realty in Loomis was an excellent property manager while our family home was rented, thoroughly vetting prospective tenants and handling all situations promptly and efficiently, taking the burden off our shoulders and making it easy to be landlords. Then she went above and beyond her duties as listing agent to get the house and landscaping ready for marketing -- scheduling inspections, coordinating workers and even doing some of the minor fixes herself! She is a real professional; super organized and attentive to details, making renting, listing and selling as uncomplicated
