Staff at time of looking for an apartment were Outstanding with answering questions, providing all the requirements for renting and moving in. After moving in, any maintenance requests were handled quickly and efficiently. They offer to rent Washers/Dryers at a reasonable price as well as provide a laundry building for those that do not want to rent them. They have a pool for those who like to take a dip to cool off during the summer months. During my stay, so far, the staff has been most helpful in providing informational messages via an app that allows you to pay rent through as well, very handy

Need to enforce parking when it comes to visitors. You come home and you don't have a place to park, cause neighbors have everybody over. Need to improve vents or require smoking outside. The smoke from neighbors homes come into your unit very strong. Have Asthma don't move here. Have allergies don't move here.

Do not apply if you are unsure whether or not you will get approved, they will make you do an online lease and make you pay the application fee and a holding fee before finding out if you were approved. To make matters worse even if you paid by card you are told the corporate office will send you a check 10 days later instead of refunding the holding fee to your card. Most places I've been will not ask for a holding fee until after you have been approved so be aware before you do the online lease.

After touring nearly every apartment complex in Elizabeth City, I decided on Southgate manor. The staff were extremely nice and the living conditions were great along with the community. The price was less than the competitors in the area but the quality was better. If you're in need of a pet friendly apartment I highly recommend Southgate manor.

I went over to go drop something off at my friends house for the first time and parked my car in parking in which I never knew that there was reserved guest parking but thats not why I'm leaving such a poor review. I'm leaving a poor review because immediately after getting out of my vehicle the lady stopped me and in a very rude tone stated " Sir , your not allowed to park there" and with out even giving me a chance to respond she told me that she would tow it ! From what I've heard the regulations here are extremely strict and they are super stingy about their policy

I’ve been here for a bit....front office staff has always been helpful. Tasha and the front office staff seems to hold all residents to the same standards and property rules. She towed my car. Maintenance staff responds quickly and have the knowledge to fix most problems. While these guys are close to 5 stars there is always room for improvement and it always seems the staff is always improving the system!

I've been living at Southgate for 10 years and through it all, I love living here. To me, it's quiet and the rent is reasonable. I get prompt responses when it comes to work requests and I have absolutely no issues with any of the staff since I've been here. I just renewed my lease so I will reside here for at least another year.

I've been living at Southgate Manor for a year and a half and before they received a new Property manager (Tasha) I had NO problems, None, Zero, Zilch, Nada. Southgate maintenance would fix anything from replacing a light bulb to regularly checking smoke detectors but now they don't do anything so my question is, WHAT DO YOU DO? WHAT AM I REALLY PAYING FOR? Answer: NOTHING BUT RAISE THE RENT PRICES FOR YOUR OWN PERSONAL BENEFIT. Because I'm pretty sure there is no reason for a maintenance team if they don't do any maintenance. But I guess when someone finds a come up they don't know how to act
