I was so excited to pick up our Tamales tonight, then so disappointed :(
This was the first year my family has not been together for Christmas, my youngest Son is in the Military now and had to transfer to El Paso with his wife and my 3 grandchildren. My husband and I split up and he also moved out of state. My eldest Son and I have become Vegetarian so I ordered a dozen Tamales for us to have on Christmas Eve and Day. However, I received some sort of meat Tamales instead of the 6 chilies and cheese, (the 6 sweet corn were delicious). By the time we discovered what the restaurant gave us it was

This place is easily 4 stars for food and service, but I’m docking them 1 because I never heard back from management about a complaint I submitted through their website about one of their employees not honoring the $5 discount coupon from The Camarillo Acorn. I wrote that I didn’t want any compensation; that I just want them to train their employee better, but I would’ve at least appreciate some acknowledgment. I kept going back because I generally liked the attitude of their staff, but considering there are cheaper Mexican food options elsewhere, I still haven’t even bothered to use the

The breakfast brunch on Sundays is bar none. The variety is wonderful and the later comes around with special dishes that very and adds a touch of randomness to the standard offerings of a Mexican buffet brunch. Desserts for wonderful, cream filled mini churros, circulation and chocolate churros. The brunch buffet is complete with fruit dessert main courses. Mimosas and champagne are included. There is no better buffet brunch in Camarillo and I lived here for 21 years. Don't come here because I don't want it to get crowded. 😉

Family dinner, Black Friday, with three kids. I’ve been here before, but this time just felt like it was perfection. Food was good as always, but man, oh man, I love tamale season! Chile & cheese tamales we exceptional. I gotta say, their hand made hot sauce is out of this world too. Our wait staff too great care of us, and the kids too (giving us more time for some quiet conversations. Anyhow, great value in a quiet neighborhood setting, good food and a very nice crew. We’ll be back!

We really had a good time over here. The food was fresh the portions we're generous and the server was a pleasure to meet. We were able to learn about some of the history of the place by the pictures on the wall, other locations that they've opened and closed and the decor inside is a classic. They usually have some good discounts for their Sunday brunches with champagne and mimosas they'll be happy to give you one of those cards that should get you anywhere from 10 to 15% off.
