Had a couple of good dinners here. But the past two times we've gotten take out it was awful. My fish was overcooked and the fries weren't fresh. My mother's ribs were fatty and overly spicy. My brother's cheeseburger was $11 and the size of a McDonald's cheeseburger. Photos included. Our food was just as bad the last time. When we complained it got nowhere. We thought it might've been a fluke. It wasn't. It's not worth spending $80 on a mediocre dinner. Plenty of other options out there.

I have not eaten at the restaurant yet. My dad did and it was so good. He hired the catering staff also to do a celebration of life for his wife who passed. I love my bbq and cook and smoke a lot of my own bbq. Wow this place is awesome great food and the two ladies that ran the whole set up and serving were amazing. Very impressed and would highly recommend.

This will be my second 5 star rating after all my years on Yelp. I heard about Mack's from a friend making a post on Facebook. I live for good prime rib.....after seeing some pics I decided to give them a try. That was maybe 90 days ago and this Saturday I made my third visit..... this time to go...absolutely fantastic!..... my only wish is that they offer a " Buy 10 get one free!"..... keep it up Mack's!!!!

Catering business that offers take out and limited dine in on a short schedule. The quality, selection, and price is 5 stars without a doubt. Logistically this place is 2 stars at best. Their location is set up to dispatch a catering crew. They have limited seating and barely any parking. And for some odd reason they have the single worst phone line on the planet. Its a 50/50 proposition when you try to call to order. Again this is a catering business who was smart enough to stay busy in their spare time. But this location has its challenges. Be patient and the fantastic food will be your reward

Highly recommend Mack's Catering! Never thought to try them for dinner as they are primarily a catering service. We ordered takeout. Clam chowder, prime rib & fried clams were delicious and perfectly prepared & cooked (this is not easy to accomplish with takeout)! The St. Louis ribs were the best we have had in along time! Definitely one of the best restaurants in CT!

When my fiance and i had to change our plans from our original venue to a backyard wedding and our original food provider did not feel comfortable doing a backyard wedding, we were disappointed; however, once we called Kaila at Mack's, all of the worry just washed away. Visited the Taylor brook winery, which was a lovely spot. Saw a food truck from Macks catering and wanted everything on that menu. But the hubby talked me down to two sandwiches. We had the delicious pulled pork and the best meatball sub I've ever had !!! I had to get another meatball sandwich Togo. Great service amazing quality and not enough time to eat everything on the menu.
I recommend people !!! I ate everything too fast to take pictures so you'll have to see for yourself.

Long drive into Connecticut, but worth trying at least once. Portions were middle of the road but good. I tried steamers and clam fritters. Steamers were quite good. Beers were a bit high, but think it will be good to try thier BBQ brisket next time.
Went back a month later for BBQ brisket and it was worth it . Portions were good, actually got several meals out of it.

This place has excellent food for the area. They are only open Thursday for dinner and Friday for lunch and dinner. They are also a catering service as it states in the name. Best prime rib for the price ($16 queen $20 king) within 25 miles at least. Their sandwiches are great, they have great French fries, great fried food all around, everything is very very good. The only problem is they don't know how to turnover tables quickly... which is surprising since you'd think they have some things ready as a catering service. Either way you MUST try Mack's catering! We used Mack's catering for a birthday party. Sarah was great to work with throughout the planning process and had awesome suggestions. I would 100% use them again and multiple people at the party asked who catered also. They have a small delivery fee of $20 and they came right on time! Very affordable and delicious food!

My daughter and I walked to a nearby restaurant called Mack's Catering,773 Quinebaug Rd, Quinebaug CT (excellent food) to arrange for roadside service. My insurance company gave me the impression that they were not able to reach anyone, so I tried to make arrangements myself. Everyone said we were too far away, so I contacted Uber (who canceled). I received a call from Mack himself 2 hours before I was expecting 70 people at my home for a party. He was so rude and unprofessional. He accused me of not answering emails or my phone which is not true. He basically told me he wasn't coming with my order because he didn't receive a payment deposit. I was so taken back and flustered and angry! His employee who I had communicated with via text, voice and email last contacted me with an email on July 4th saying I can choose to pay with credit card or in full with a check the day of delivery, which I chose to do. Again, Mack called angry

We had been to Mack's when they first opened and remembered it had been good so we headed back when we were wanting some fish and chips.
There's nothing fancy about this place and I never have an issue with that as long as the place is clean and they have good food (it's clean!).
We both ordered fish and chips, a bowl of clam chowder and beverages (no alcohol sold here).

Deb Merrill, my catering specialist could not have been more accomadating, PROMPT, and consultative. She helped me figure out the best plan for my budget. She remained in constant contact with me throughout the process, up to and including the event. They are getting so busy and popular that Deb had to help with my set up. The barbecue is TO DIE FOR. I am quite surprised not to see other reviews of Mack's Catering on yelp, because my newly wedded wife had selected Mack's to provide the catering for our wedding and the reviews are all great on the website.
Because of that, I was certainly on board with using them for our reception.
Over 100 people were all very impressed with the food as was my new wife and I.
Everyone kept asking who the catering service was.
We had broiled chicken, deliciously seasoned and fall-off-the bone juiciness!
The pulled pork was moist and full of flavor!
The sausage and peppers were a big hit.
