Services
Dr. Tippett learned small town values growing up in Vidalia, GA. After graduating high school, he attended Georgia Southern College where he studied pre-med and played football. After serving an eighteen month church mission to Ecuador, South America, he attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN and graduated in 1991.
At Tippett EyeCare, we strive to provide comprehensive, primary eye care for the whole family. Preventative and routine eye exams are important to maintaining good eye health. Often, eye and vision problems do not have obvious symptoms or signs, but are easily diagnosed by a licensed optometrist. By diagnosing eye and vision conditions early on, our optometrist is able provide treatment options and in many cases restore or prevent vision loss.
Glaucoma, cataracts, and age-related macular degeneration are just a few of the common eye diseases which affect older patients. Even if your vision is fine, annual eye health exams can detect eye and systemic diseases in the early stages when it is easier to prevent vision loss. Help maintain quality of life with good eye care.
According to the American Optometric Association (AOA), infants should have their first comprehensive eye exam at 6 months of age. Children then should receive additional eye exams at 3 years of age, and just before they enter kindergarten or the first grade at about age 5 or 6. For school-aged children, the AOA recommends an eye exam every two years if no vision correction is required.
In our office, you will receive a thorough and detailed assessment to determine your candidacy for laser vision correction. You will have an opportunity to ask any questions that you may have. Our doctor is fully certified and experienced in laser vision correction pre- and post-operative care. We know that laser vision correction is a considerable decision, and your needs and expectations will be taken into account in the evaluation process.

I was very unhappy with the service. It seemed that my family and I were just a number. Staff was not very helpful or informative concerning the results of the eye exams and options for eye care. I’m very disappointed that I spent my money at this establishment. This is not the first time I’ve felt this way visiting the Evans location. I thought I would give it another chance and still got the same vibe. If you are looking for great patient care and attention to detail this is not it.

Definitely call them to confirm your appointment or just call directly to make an appointment. Their online form is not reliable.
I scheduled an appointment, called to verify the day of that they had an appointment for me and was told that they didn't have enough information to schedule an appointment for me like my physical address or phone number.
I can definitely understand if I made a mistake of not just filling out that information on the form but I know I did because those fields are required on the online form in order to submit it.

After spending 700+ dollars on glasses for me and my husband because we were sold a “deal” only to find out the deal came after spending more on prescription sunglasses. We still walked away with eye glass and contact exam- fine. No prescription evaluate we have to get trial pair first- ok.
Fast forward to pick up- We came to pick up our glasses after we were called because they were ready. Waited 30 + min in the parking lot and my entire lunch break because the accidentally sent them to their other location. Husband had to come next day to get his. No prescription on either pair of glasses

Nice receptionists, indifferent and snarky assistants, and a distracted and arrogant optometrist. The cost was three times as much as a Stanton visit without including all the information needed. I where bifocals and the optometrist did not even test my near sighted vision and said that she could just guess what it would most likely be based on my age and other factors--first I've heard of that. I tried to order glasses but the "full" vision screen did not include the PD needed to do so--this wasn't even offered as an option nor was it explained to me how the lack of information would effect my

Not a bad experience the first time, but we purchased the year long family plan, in which we were supposed to be able to get $29 visits and $100 glasses for the whole family. Of course, they neglect to mention that it's for one calendar year, so you only get it for the rest of the year. When we called to schedule further visits, we learned this. No offer of a refund or any attempt to get it right. Duplicitous business practices, go somewhere else.

Update: They called and made it right so score increased.
Liked the doctor and the staff. This honestly would be a 5 star review but they wanted to charge a $35 fee to give me my pupillary distance that I needed to buy myself an extra pair of glasses online, even though I did purchase a pair of glasses through them. Which is ridiculous since it had to be measured for the glasses I did purchase through them. So it is just a hostage fee since I want to order more glasses but but not through them. Not sure if I will return to this practice but I did like the Dr.

My experience was beyond disappointing. Although the staff was friendly and helpful, Dr. Tippett was a different story. I brought my 9 year old Autistic son for an eye exam, based on the recommendation by his school for the completion of his IEP for the upcoming school year. Our appointment was at 11:30 am and arrived promptly at 10:45 am. Even though we were early, I had no expectations to be seen earlier than the scheduled time. Dr. Tippett presented in the room at 12:39 pm and left his bedside manner at home. Dr. Tippett spoke to my child as if he had no compassion for his inability to fully

Been in Aiken area now for 2 1/2 yrs. This my 3rd eye doctor that I have been to. Very please with the service and product that they provide. The 1st one I had an exam, and they made 2 pair of glasses. One pair was perfect, the other pair was so bad, I could not see using them. After 6 tryies, I gave up on them. The 2nd place I went, I guess they were OK, but there was something that I did not like, but could never put my finger on the problem.
