Dr. Broome is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Optometry in Birmingham and has been in private practice for over 35 years. We accept Cash, Personal Checks, American Express, Master Card, Visa, Discover, and Care Credit. We participate with most VSP, Medicare, EyeMed, Aetna Medical, United Healthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Tricare plans. If your insurance is not listed or if you have any questions about your insurance coverage for your visit, please contact our office.
We are pleased to offer a new way to view and document the interior of your eyes. This instrument is placed in our office by Optos, and provides Dr. Broome (and you, too) with a panoramic view of the inside of your eyes. This helps Dr. Broome to determine if your eyes are healthy. The usual fee for this service is $29.00.
The doctors at Broome Family Eye Care have provided LASIK and PRK refractive surgery co-management services for more than 10 years to hundreds of patients. Refractive surgery is an option for those who would like to lessen their dependency on glasses or contacts. Please call our office to set up an appointment for a complimentary consultation if you have questions about refractive surgery.

I cannot say enough about the first class, personalized service I’ve received at Broome over the last few years. Dr. Broome is keeping a close watch on my vision issues, carefully measuring and tracking the anatomy of my eyes from year to year. He shares all the scans, photos, metrics, etc. and is able to explain what it all means clearly and succinctly. It is so reassuring knowing my eyes and vision are is his skilled, genuinely caring hands.

I mangled my glasses. I went in Friday afternoon at about 5 pm. Tiffany takes the glasses and manages to get the lenses back in them so I can see and ordered me a new pair. The were super helpful and super friendly. The Docs have always been thorough and explained in a way I can understand. Can not recommend them enough.

I used this office for years. I called to get my chart information and the lady who answered the phone was very rude. She told me I needed to down load the Mobile app and that when they felt like getting around to updating my chart they would update the app. I called back a week and a half later because still nothing was updated in the app. I asked her to just tell me what my prescription was and she refused and got very hateful. She couldn’t even tell me what my prescription was on my chart and I was treated very rude! I will never recommend or return to this office again!! What good is a company

Had an extremely over due visit today. It was literally the most amazing visit! The staff was very friendly. Dr. Broome has to be one of the coolest doctors I've met! He made sure I understood everything I asked about Taylor was so patient and sweet with helping me pick out my frames. Thanks Broome!!

As soon as I walked into the building, I was pleasantly greeted by the front desk staff. After finishing the sign-in, I was directed to sit in the waiting area that was appropriately spaced for COVID measures. My appointment was at 11:10 am and I didn't have to wait too long after in order to be helped (most doctors offices take an absorbent amount to help their patients, but I think the time it took here was definitely acceptable). Dr. Regina Cutright Hamlin, O.D was great! and so were the assistants that worked with her. I also walked around the lobby and noticed that they had a rather nice selection

My family has used them for years. Recently, my 83 year old Dad lost his glasses. Shannon Snider has helped me find inexpensive replacement glasses for him without him coming in from out of town. They saw him recently and were able diagnosis his problems quickly and without embarressing him as he has dementia. Everyone there handled him with kid gloves.

My eyes were bothering me after working long hours on the computer. Broome Family Eyecare did an exam and fit me with a great pair of glasses. I met with both Broome brothers. We’ve gone to Broome Family Eyecare since the ‘90s. While under the direction of the senior Dr. Broome, the prescriptions were always perfect and the office was friendly and efficient. Sadly, the elder Dr Brooke retired and handed off the office to his son. His son rushes exams and isn’t nearly as good at prescriptions. Worst of all, however, is that he is dishonest. His shop took forever to craft my progressive lenses, and they were done improperly. I described exactly what was wrong and even demonstrated that the focal centers were off. He went in the back room and had a technician measure

Better hope you don’t need anything outside of regular scheduled care they’ll send you away. Have been using them for our regular check ups for 2-3 years (since moving here), show up with an urgent eye issue after being seen by urgent care yesterday and being told to see my optometrist ASAP, then Broome sends you away because you don’t have an appt. Terrible patient care. So disappointing!

Very unsatisfied. Unprofessional, and not accommodating when they screw up. I had an eye appointment that I scheduled last year for this year. My husband had an appointment a week before mine this year. When they called to confirm his appointment, he also confirmed my appointment for the following week. At his appointment he confirmed my appointment for the next week. I get to my appointment early, Only to be met at the door by a young lady taking temperatures to let me know they took me off the schedule because I had not confirmed. Seriously.... This is a eye appointment not heart surgery. You

The folks there (the workers) are nice and professional - Dr. Regina is great at what she does as well - the problem is the fact that the showroom employees take measurements that are not printed on your prescription and will not provide you with that information unless you purchase glasses from their office.
Purposefully withholding parts of your prescription, such as pupillary distance, is done because they do not want you to purchase glasses elsewhere as that impacts their bottom line. I have been getting my glasses online for years without any issues and will continue to do so for my family
