As husband and wife, we began moving forward into the dream of Awaken Wellness after a fire had all but destroyed Jennifer's thriving acupuncture practice. After the ashes and embers of the fire had settled, Jennifer resumed her practice from home for several months while moving forward with Brian creating the vision of Columbia's first wellness center.

Services
As a service to you we are happy to verify your insurance benefits*. Our center is a full service wellness center, and as a courtesy we offer insurance billing to all patients who have acupuncture benefits. We are happy to find out what benefits are covered by your plan, if you need a referral from your primary care physician or if pre authorization is required before your visit.
Awaken Wellness provides Chinese herbal medicine consultations with our licensed acupuncturists who are also Chinese herbalists. We can provide Chinese herbal medicine in many forms and customize the herbal formula to your specific needs. For our patients safety we only prescribe Chinese herbal medicine to those who have been evaluated and diagnosed by one of our practitioners.
Our therapists have training in a range of modalities and are compassionate to a client's goals. We are dedicated to your well being. Massage has been utilized as a form of therapy and healing for thousands of years. Though widely used and accepted in other cultures for centuries and sometimes millennia, massage has only fairly recently grown in popularity in the US.
At Awaken Wellness, we understand the importance of thorough communication between a client and therapist. In order for a session to be most effective, a client's individual needs must be addressed. For this reason, a buffer time is worked into every appointment so a client never feels rushed off the table and always receives the full time amount of massage that has been scheduled.
Tipping your therapist is customary and ranges from 15-20% of the fee for the therapeutic massage. If possible please leave your tips in cash. Tip envelopes are provided at the front desk. We are committed to you having the best customer experience at Awaken Wellness and our practitioners are dedicated to fully addressing your concerns and health goals.

Highly recommend AW! Finally realized that, at my age, massage isn't just a luxury, it is necessary. I have had 2 in the last 2 months - Susan and Allie. After Susan, I joined the monthly membership. Susan got… me started on healing my lower back pain. Allie got the 'best' of me yesterday! Took a spill on my bike the day before and jammed my shoulder. She spent the whole hour working that mess out. It's a start and I can't wait until next month! I figure in a few months I'm gonna be a new woman!! - I'll let you all know.....

I love this place!! I love the staff!! It’s so refreshing to go somewhere and be treated like you matter. They genuinely care. They offer so many amazing therapies! My acupuncturist, Sung Mi, has impeccable soft skills and is highly skilled in this therapy.

This place has truly made me love massages. I never felt relaxed to enjoy them but decided to give it a try after having severe anxiety. Melissa was so amazing I went back the following week. The place itself is very clean and felt safe with covid protocols. Also the I can't begin to describe the amazing professionalism and kindness of the front desk staff. Also love how easy it is to make an appointment and you can fill all your paper work online. Truly a great experience. Can't wait for my upcoming acupuncture appointment.

Jen Stukey is a highly skilled acupuncturist, well versed in traditional Chinese medicine and the use of herbs. Her treatments are individualized full of love, care and wisdom and effective. Her “Cold Away”… herbs were very helpful for my sinus congestion. Her spirit is gentle and wise. Jen is a quiet, caring soul who knows her stuff.

Awaken Wellness has been an amazing place. David at front desk is always polite and kind. If you have ever thought about going to an acupuncturist, Nicole is really incredible and give her my highest recommendation. I did not know what to expect when deciding to do acupuncture (especially coming from a pharmacy background) however Nicole has a… very wholistic approach in her practice that I really appreciated. She is professional, down-to-earth, knowledgeable, and has a very calming demeanor. Out of all my healthcare professionals, she is my favorite!

I am very pleased with the services here at Awaken Wellness. Everything is very personable and individualized. This is definitely an alternative to medications by focusing on the whole! As an asthmatic, I know I will have to have some medications on standby. However, the meds do not have to be my crutch; they have moved from a state of dependency to rescue as needed. I can't wait to try the other services.

I've been coming to Awaken Wellness for a little over 3 months now. It has been a great experience overall. The atmosphere is clean and well kept. The people are very friendly and nice to all clients. I initially came to Awaken Wellness to focus primarily on trying to conceive. After many session with Nicole i feel a great comfort and confident in her ability as an acupuncturist. I always feel refreshed and leave in good spirits. Awaken Wellness is wonderful. I have met with Nicole for acupuncture over the last year and cannot say enough about her knowledge and ability. She attentively listens to understand the issues and is able to successfully address them each and every time.
