LS Men's Clothing's modest beginnings date back to 1954, as a family run business. We were one of the original discounters of fine ready-made men's clothing from such houses as Oxxford, Hickey Freeman, Southwick and Kilgore, French, and Stanbury to name a few. These were suits that were featured only in the finest department stores and Madison Avenue haberdashers.
We are located in Midtown Manhattan in New York City, minutes from Rockefeller Center, Broadway and Times Square. The area is also known as the Theater District and is right around the corner from the Diamond District. If you are traveling by train, take the B, D, V or F train to 47-50 Rockefeller Center station, or the 4,6 or 7 train to 42nd street Grand Central Station.
You have decided that you need to add some new clothing to your old ensembles and want to have made-to-measure custom clothing. You come up to LS Men's Clothing and custom suits and are greeted by Izzy, the proprietor. In order to understand your taste and to guide you along the process, he will ask a few questions to get a better view of what you want.
After the initial process of taking your measurements and selection of fabrics, we proceed to choose a proper model for you that will achieve the comfort, elegance and proper fit. Trying on actual sample jackets and trousers of various models will make the decision process that much easier.
Higher arm holes or roomier arm holes, tapered jacket or fuller cut, athletic model or classic cut, pleated or non-pleated pants, tapered or fuller leg treatment.The model you choose for your made-to-measure suit has to make you feel comfortable and confident that you look and feel your best. Hand stitching in the armholes and other strategic areas of movement, will assure you the comfort of mobility.

I was looking for unique stylish clothing so the selection process took awhile, but Izzy was very patient with me and wanted to be sure I was happy with whatever I purchased. We eventually found the fabric and patterns to fit my tastes. The end result is a beautiful colorful trendy suit and two awesome pair of trousers!! I needed formal white tie and tails and was surprised at how few places in New York had it (or even knew what it was). Rentals were available but they looked cheap, and I didn’t take well to the idea of wearing rented formal wear. Prices proved to be astronomical as well. Izzy is not only a great tailor he is also helpful and patient, and pleasant to work with, honest and everything that we have ordered (we've been costumers for many years ) was top quality.

If you think getting a suit custom made is only for the wealthy, think again. Most good quality suits from places like J Crew and Suit Supply start in the $600 - $700 range. Bloomingdale's will be higher than that for their least expensive suit. And after alterations to get it exactly how you want it, you're looking to spend a bit more.
But for a little more, you can get a suit custom made to your exact measurements. And I'm not even sure it's actually more if you include the alterations on the off the rack stuff.

Izzy is the way to go. Hands down. I wanted a suit for my wedding day and I went to a couple of bespoke places in NYC. Most of them I felt were all show and the sales rep and stylists weren't as familiar with their product as much as him. He works with your budget and your timeline. He is very knowledgeable and I would definitely recommend him to others!

I don't spend a lot of time writing reviews, but frankly I noticed the odd negative review of a custom H. Freeman suit from LS Men's Clothing and I feel compelled to write how opposite my experience has been!
At LS, other than some braces and neckties, I have been buying exclusively H. Freeman made-to-measure suits and jackets for at least five or six years. I am a professional man in my early 50's now, and have always preferred the classic style or "gentleman's fit" type of suit: not extreme, not "too anything." And that is exactly what Izzy and H. We went today to buy a suit off the rack. My brothers size was a little broad. Izzy found us the perfect suit and was the ultimate professional. He gave us several options, gave us his expertise and opinion, and helped us select a beautiful suit. The best thing of all is that he had his tailors work on it immediately and we were able to take it home on the same day.

I had read an article about Izzy in Esquire magazine and decided to check with him when I needed a suit for my wedding. The entire experience was great from start to finish. Izzy's experience and knowledge made it fast and easy to get exactly what I was looking for. The finished suit was more than I could have hoped for and I will definitely be back for more. Before my wedding, I went to LS Mens Clothing to get a few suits. All the suits turned out better than I could have expected. They had a large selection of high quality materials to pick from and the turn around time was less than a month. Prices were very reasonable in comparison to other custom suit shops. Izzy, the owner, was very attentive and all his measurements were spot on. They are located smack in middle of midtown and they were easy to get to. I highly recommend LS Mens.

I have been in search for a great place to get clothing. There is no substitute for bespoke wear. No off-the-rack clothing has the feel and fit compared to made-to-measure. Searching the web led me to this place which I finally had the chance to visit yesterday.

Great spot to get custom suits. Izzy is an old-school master tailor who does a great job. The entire experience takes a little getting used to. You have to be buzzed up to the third floor of a basically unmarked building... so it's not the same experience as shopping at Saks. However, once inside, you'll see suits that are higher quality than Saks for whatever price point you want to spend.

If you're looking for made-to-measure in NYC, this is probably the best value you can find. You get American-tailored clothes at reasonable prices (think Hickey Freeman for well less than $1000, shirts for ~$100).
It's not chic or upscale. You don't get fruit-infused water when you walk in like you do at some places, but that's not what you're there for. If you're okay with "efficient" service, want a good looking suit, and don't have gobs of money, this is the place for you.

I wanted to buy my brother a suit for his birthday, and I wanted to go better than off-the-rack. After a good bit of internet research, we decided on LS, and I'm really glad we did. We ended up buying more than just the one suit for my brother. All in all, we ended up buying 3 suits, a beautiful midnight blue tuxedo, and a jacket.

Absolute pleasure to deal with
Izzy can probably size you up faster than anyone you've ever met, at least physically
(including detecting that one of my shoulders was sloped lower than the other)
didn't end up getting a suit from there, because of a small misunderstanding - but he was quick to refund me deposit immediately,

Izzy is an honest, professional gentleman who will very quickly tell you whether your ideas regarding style or fabric are suited to you. Just as a proper tailor should.

We purchased two new 110's thread count suits, 100% worsted wool (is a type of yarn, the fabric made from this yarn, and a yarn weight category. The name derives from Worstead, a village in the English county of Norfolk).

Being tall and thin has manifold advantages. Being able to buy clothes off the rack is not one of them. Buying a ready made shirt means one of two things. Either the shirt will have so much extra fabric (enough to admit the belly of a much fatter man) and will billow out at the waist like a blouse. Or the sleeves will not reach the wrists, usually giving up halfway to three-quarters up the forearm.
