We are doing our best to create a safe environment for our patients and team. We ask all patients who enter our office to wear a mask. We are cleaning and disinfecting all surfaces and tools after use. We require appointments and have staggered our staff's schedules to minimize the number of people in the office.

Dr. James R. Binyon opened the first Binyon Optical Company in 1911 on First Avenue in Seattle. He went on to open several other offices in Everett, Tacoma, Spokane, Richland, Yakima, Bremerton and Bellingham, which opened in 1934. At one time, it was estimated one of every three Washington families wore glasses dispensed by Binyon Optometrists.
The mission of Binyon Vision Center is to help every patient see their best, look their best and enjoy a lifetime of good eye health. Providing the best service from the initial phone call through the detailed eye exam to follow-up on any product ordered. Offering the highest quality eyewear and educating our patients on the most advanced technology to help them see and look their best.
Comprehensive eye exams consist of two parts: refraction (vision testing) and an eye health examination. After a discussion about how you use your eyes during the day, our optometrists will perform a refraction at multiple distances:. Using the phoropter (shown in image) the doctor measures the refractive error in your eyes which translates to a prescription for glasses.
In order to see well, we need healthy eyes. This is true for everyone and not just those who are wearing corrective lenses. Our eyes, like the rest of the body, need vital nutrients and sustained care to function at a high level. What does "healthy eyes" mean? An eye injury can cause vision loss or even blindness.
Our optometrists are available to address emergent eye problems, provide ongoing monitoring of eye conditions such as glaucoma or dry eyes and provide post operative care for Lasik and cataract removal. If you are experiencing any issues with your eyes, please call to discuss with one of our doctors as soon as possible.

This is for Binyon Vision Center in Bellingham. I have never left a review on Yelp before, I was so frustrated by my experience in your shop I have made a username, logged into yelp, and am leaving this 1 star review for Binyon Bellingham.
It is the day before Thanksgiving 2021 and I am in desperate need of glasses. I have my prescription with me and walk from work to the store. This center was excellent and I highly recommend it. All were very efficient, knowledgeable, and helpful. My eyeglasses were perfectly done and of high quality. My two visits - the consultation and the glasses pickup - went quickly and seamlessly. Since I was traveling from the San Juan Islands, this was very important.

I've never met a team as friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to make me feel at home as when we visited Binyon for the first time. My wife and I were met by Hannah, who took us in hand, offered us freshly baked cinnamon bread, and moved us to the back. There, Dr. LeClaire joked, explained, previewed her actions, explained what was happening next, and created an informed, relaxed environment. Lastly, we worked with Sarah on frame choices. I've been coming here for annual vision exams and contact fitting since I moved to Bellingham in 2003. Everyone here is REALLY super nice.
Dr. McEathron is a very calm and soft-spoken person. His vision exam is always very thorough. I never felt I was rushed. His kind mannerism also makes me feel comfortable asking him any questions.
The front desk staff are also great. The receptionist is very welcoming. The lady who does billing checks on my insurance benefits prior to my appointment. So, I come in here knowing that all I have to pay is the co-pay (or annual deductible if it's yet

I had been putting off going to the eye doctor but I opened my last pair of contacts and finally faced the truth. I had driven and walked past Binyon quite a few times since moving here and they also popped up on a search of "Bellingham Optometrists" so I figured I would just give them a call and see if they took my insurance.

I'm a Western Washington University student and I came here looking for an affordable pair of glasses. The minute I walked in, they assigned me an optometrist to help me find a style fits my face. He was super nice and helpful. My glasses ended up costing under $200! I was very impressed with their customer service. 10/10, would definitely recommend!

It really is too bad that some people have the nerve to give one star just because of "bad service." Didn't you like the frames or selection? That alone should boost them up from one star... Oh well... Anyway!
I am visiting on a road trip from Arizona and the nose piece on my glasses broke the other day. I finally had enough time to stop in and have them fixed today and when I arrived I was greeted with a smile and a hello. I explained the situation and the lady at the front desk promptly had someone put a new nose piece on my glasses for no charge. Thank you guys!
