My passion for skincare began at an early age. Troubled by problem skin during my teenage years, I discovered solutions through regular facials. It was then that I decided I wanted to become an esthetician, hoping to help people avoid the suffering I experienced. I became a California Board licensed esthetician and acne specialist 20 years ago, specializing in teen and adult acne and anti-aging therapies.

Shelly is WONDERFUL! Just wonderful. She is so knowledgeable and so skilled and genuinely interested in helping each person with their specific skin type and specific needs. She really does wonders. I have been going to Shelly for several years now. She is very professional. I'll tell you why: She 1) never lets herself be interupted (i.e, you get her full attention); 2) the ambiance and smells in her room are comforting; 3) she never cuts corner while treating you (ie, same attention the 100th time as the first time); 4) she is funny and a good listener (she remembers things I told her in the past); 5) she doesn't try to get me to spend more more or sell me products; 6) she is ALWAYS (and I mean ALWAYS on time). These are all qualities I look for in a person providing service

I have been seeing Shelly for more than ten years -- and frankly she is as important to my skin as water is to my body! I don't know WHAT I would do without her. She is unbelievable amazing at what she does, plus she is just a completely wonderful person, inside and out. I get so many compliments on my skin and how much it glows. She is the BEST.

I started seeing Shelly in July for her esthetician services at Seven Salon on College avenue in Oakland. My skin was reminiscent of my high school days and I did not feel comfortable with it. Shelly put me on a strict regimen using Face Reality products, combined with regular facials that she administers in a soothing environment.
I am so happy to say that my skin looks radiant and is blemish free four months later! I would HIGHLY recommend Shelly if you have troubled skin and want a personalized skin plan.

My fiance was really confused to learn that Shelly is not actually a dermatologist, because my skin improved so radically after going to see her! My mother thought I was taking significant doses of prescription medication - the only thing that has helped clear up the cystic acne on my back before. But no! It was Shelly's patient and loving care. Shelly does amazing things, and does a great job of working with your current schedule/regimen/general state of laziness to get you going with skincare that will really work for you. Shelly is an educator with knowledge to spare. She is gentle and creates a soothing environment while thoroughly dealing with my skin. I always leave with samples to try. I have never bought products there that I haven't sampled first.
I found a review for Shelly on Berkeley Parents Network last year in looking for someone who was great with extractions. I have combo skin that is sensitive and dry and tends to break out and have allergic reactions with certain skin care products so on. Surprised that there aren't more reviews of her work as I have had to wait to get an appointment

Shelly is the VERY best! I have been seeing her for years (10+!). She is knowledgeable, professional, warm and gives the best facials. She is continually researching the best products available and doesn't just use one product line - she uses what is right for YOUR skin. That's just one of the things that separates her from anyone else. Also, she has never once tried to push me into buying any products. Shelly is one of the best esthetician's I've been to. She is very knowledgable about skincare and todays products/trends. She gives fantastic facials that are both relaxing and informative. I highly recommend having her do your eyebrows too! Mine have never looked better! Don't be afraid of a little tint, either.

Shelly Gomez is an amazing esthetician! I started seeing her about 6 months ago for acne. She helped me get my skin under control and taught me how to manage it between visits. She is extremely knowledgeable in the field of skincare and always makes me feel very comfortable during my facials. I would definitely recommend her to anyone seeking help with their skin!
