Founded by Edward L. and Margaret Vogel in 1958 with a single truck, Vogel Disposal has grown to become one of the largest independent providers of waste collection and disposal services in Western Pennsylvania. Vogel Disposal Service offers residential curbside garbage and recycling collection in many areas within Butler County, Allegheny County, Westmoreland County and Armstrong County. There are lots of reasons to use Vogel Disposal Service for your residential waste and recycling collection needs. With our residential recycling service, you can put all of your approved recyclables into a single container for clean, easy recycling.
From a spring cleaning to a major construction project, a dumpster may be the solution for storing and removing large volumes of waste. Containers are sized from 10 cubic yards to 30 cubic yards for open containers. Whether you're a homeowner or a contractor, whether the project is large or small, we can supply a container that is just right for you.
The Covered Device Recycling Act (CDRA) requires that select electronic devices no longer be disposed of in Pennsylvania landfills. All of these devices are required to be properly recycled. Please see more regarding the CDRA requirements and your options below. The following items are not permitted in the landfill and must go to special recycling facilities.

Industrial trash and recycling compaction units save space and reduce the volume of on-site garbage and cardboard. For large-volume waste production, compactors are a simple way to maximize space and efficiency, while minimizing the cost of transporting garbage. Our trash compactors reduce volume by a ratio of 4 to 1.

I have had Vogel for a little over 20 years now and their service has gone completely downhill over the last 5-10 years! We live on a secondary road which is maintained in the winter months but our trash will set for at least 2 weeks before they finally will come and get it. When I call them they say they will send someone out to pick it up, but they don't.

Even when it is not winter they still miss our road. They have to drive passed our road to pick up trash on the road that gets to our road ( our road is in the middle of the other road), and all their trash gets picked up. When I call

They have always been on time and very efficient. They are experiencing the same difficulty that many businesses are with staffing and the repercussions of a pandemic. Sometimes people who have never worked the business are quick to criticize. My pick up has been a day late also, but it's not the end of the world! Find patience people.

Incompetent group. Ordered trashcans and to start service almost 10 days ago now and am still waiting. Apparent this place operates out of the Stone Age with printed, hand-delivered internal invoices. Trash in my garage smells great too.

Terrible company. Would use someone else if I could. And I suggest anyone that can to shy away from Vogel. Besides the cans being cheap and always breaking. I consistently have issues with them but picking up my garbage. 4 days now and still haven't gotten it. But don't worry they have no problems collecting your cash.

So far in the last month, 1 day late on recycling, 4 days late on recycling, and currently garbage not picked up. called and was told its due to labor shortage by customer service, then changed their story and said it was covid. so i wanted a refund on service so i asked for the manager. manager went home for the day, so they sent to office manager instead. who said they were fully staffed but had 16 call offs. so either they have really bad covid safety and not requiring vacation. or the employees are unoffically striking. either way its not being managed appropriately. will be looking at switching

I've been using vogel for about a year and half now. At first it was going well, until winter (2021) hit. My garbage and recycle pick ups were never picked up on scheduled days. It's a constant battle between customer vs driver based on the notes the customer service reps provide over the phone to me. Very displeased with the service we've been having for the past several months. We have had to call every week for our trash to be picked up. On a consistent basis the drivers and now the supervisor state that our trash is never out, which is a lie. Currently we've had our trash out on the sidewalk for 2 weeks with no pick-up. We live in an alley and have never had issues until now, it seems to me that the drivers are lazy and refuse to drive down the alley when they have to do it to grab the dumpster of the building right next to us anyways.

Garbage pick up is on Mondays and I called Tuesday afternoon to be told it would be picked up on Wednesday. I was unhappy, but this was out of my control. Wednesday after lunch, I call again and I am told it will be picked up late that afternoon. Well, they lie….customer service, the dispatchers, etc. I have called for the 3rd day now and was told it will be picked up this morning by a supervisor! I am doubtful of this and told by borough this is a private matter, so they cannot help. What kind of business continues to screw their customer over???? Why were we not a priority at all…..maybe

We are in day 4 of having our trash cans baking in the hot sun at the curb. Was told that the driver could not finish his route on Monday and that the trash would be picked up on Wednesday. Trash still there. Called again today. Was told they had lots of call offs this week. Other businesses get the job done when they have call offs. Why can't Vogel? They certainly need a back up plan. The stench of the trash in our neighborhood is awful!

Garbage was supposed to be picked up early morning Monday. It’s still sitting by the road. I’ve called three times and been lied to everytime. I was told “by 5pm today…” each time. It’s Thursday. It’s gross. Raccoons and coyotes are starting to come near my home since we live on a rural road. I was also told any garbage from this week I set out there for when it does finally get picked up, that isn’t in the bin, will be left on the road!

Skipping trash days seems like the new norm for this company, and I’m not getting into it. Being a monopoly in my area, we are stuck with them. God forbid you have extra items you want to get rid of… so many rules + extra pay just so they show some mercy to pick up your extra boxes (the day after). When they show up, they leave 1 of 3 bundles of flattened boxes because it was “oversize”, which was not. If you wanna do something, you try to find a way, otherwise you find an excuse. What an outstandingly poorly run company. There really are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe the depths of their incompetence.

We missed our garbage delivery time so we called right away and paid for an extra pickup. This was on a Wednesday. They told us they would come out the same day and pick it up. Nothing. We called Thursday and they promised and again - nothing. I called Friday and the lady said they would come by 11 on Saturday. It is 1:30 pm Saturday and guess what?

Whoever is leading this joke of an organization should be fired immediately. There is no excuse

Horrible service. My garbage can has been destroyed by Vogel. I've called the route manager to report this to try and rectify this to no avail. My garbage can lid is lying on the road most pick up days. I shouldn't have to buy a Vogel garbage can for decent service and a service I pay for. I would love to have Morrow back. If I could give negative stars I would. Something has to be done.

Vogel drivers are the worst. They drop stuff all the time and just leave it lay. They see the slightest bit of snow, no reason to pick up trash. Then you call up and people will say they will pick it up but never come pick it up. They just say what you want to hear to make you go away.

Vogel took over for Morrow Refuse, whose owners retired. Vogel has always been excellent in preforming their services. Their customer service department has always been extremely helpful and courteous.

I have a business and they have not picked our garbage up several times but they want paid for every time when they sit even show up and during Covid they didn't pick it up for 2 months but guess what they wanted paid they said they didn't know we were closed unless you live under a rick you know all hair salons were closed and the customer service department does not work with you they are very unfriendly

They missed my garbage pick up day despite everything being at the curb in plain view. I have called two days in a row to be told that the drivers are aware it needs picked up. When I told customer service it needs to be today she simply told me they've all gone home for the day. Going on almost a week my garbage has been sitting there. Disgusting. Horrible service. Terrible service. Every couple of weeks they miss pickup. Trash containers are thrown all over the driveway. Recyclable scattered all over the road after pickup. I now have them on speed dial I have to call them so much. Some of the customer service reps are completely incompetent. Our service has been on the same scheduled day for the past 15 years then all of a sudden they change the day of the week. No notice and when I called, the rep told me I was wrong and that it was not my usual pick up day because that is what the computer said so I must be wrong. Avoid this company if possible

For four years Vogel Disposal Service has failed to pick up my recycling more often than not. They do pick it up another day after I call customer service, but having to call, and usually wait on hold, is a hassle. Also, having the cart at the end of my driveway for 2-5 days is inconvenient and unsightly. Lately, they have also failed to pick up my garbage several times, requiring a phone call and having the garbage cart at the end of my driveway for two or more days.

We made the huge mistake of switching residential pickup service from another company to Vogel, based on the cost. The worst decision we have ever made. Vogel missed our first pickup day, and after 4 different calls to customer service, after receiving 4 different lies saying they would be right out, the bags are STILL sitting at the end of our driveway. We have cancelled our service that never got started and went crawling back to our previous company. The difference in customer service departments between the two companies is world's apart. Unfortunately Vogel keeps giving the lowest bid, so the township (Pine) keeps using them. Rates are high in my opinion. And their customer service sucks - incompetent and unethical. Three recent issues might serve as examples.

1)There had been a promotion going on to encourage you to sign up for auto payment. It was detailed on the postcard bill they send and said the promotion (I think it was a couple dollar credit) was good through a certain date. Vogel disposal is the most ignorant "take it or leave it". Double your garbage back if you're unhappy. Sopranos type business I've ever dealt with. They make no apologys for their ignorant behavior and it seems to flow from management down to the drivers. At first I was appalled at the way I was treated. Now nothing surprises me.

I've been a Vogel customer for 15 years. This is the absolute worst company I've ever had to deal with. At this point, it's worth me paying more to Waste management or BFI to have my garbage picked up. In 2007 we did not receive our quarterly bill and honestly forgot about it. 1 bill and they came and picked up our bin and trash and stopped picking up trash. One star is too good. If you have a choice please look elsewhere. I've been a customer for 25 years because they are the only game in town. I've simply had enough today. $40 to remove a piece of furniture!! On top of my already inflated bills for full service.

I forgot to put my trash out this morning and they charged me an additional 10 dollars to pick it up. I get that they are a business, but accidents happen. There isn't a courtesy picked for a one time miss or anything. They also charge you for additional items not in the can. Would like to see them pick up their messes, as well.
