Dr. Sam Thompson is here to care for all of your vision needs. We handle everything from adult and children's eye exams and hard-to-fit contact lenses, to eye emergencies, treatment of eye diseases and co-management of eye surgery. Our practice began as Albemarle Eye Center in 1946 by Dr. Keith Wolf.
With an office in Centre Pointe Shopping Center in Albemarle, Dr. Sam Thompson has been serving Central North Carolina for more than 31 years. Everyone was cordial, helpful,( I am handicapped) and experienced. I haven't had an eye exam for 8 years. I was referred to Dr. Thompson's office by my aunt whom had cataract surgery performed by Dr. Thompson and she urged me to get an exam. I am so happy I did. Great people. I would recommend to anyone needing an Optometrists

I recently moved the North Carolina from Indiana. I have two cornea transplants and last night had severe pain in the right eye. I get nervous when anything is wrong with my eyes. Dr. Thompson’s staff was so supportive and worked hard to fit me in. Dr. Thompson was so kind and very thorough with his exam and explanation. I was very impressed with their support and kindness.

Dr. Thompson is the best! He listens, and he is very thorough. My prescriptions are always perfect there. All the rest of the staff always take time with me, and are so cheerful and polite. The assistant that fits the glasses is amazing too! He is my husband’s doctor, and was my mother’s the last years of her life. I highly recommend!
