Dr. Gerrian Wuts holds a Ph. D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (San Diego) and is a licensed psychologist in the state of California (PSY 19870). She also received a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands in 1991, and completed a post-graduate diploma course in psychoanalytic theories at the California Psychoanalytic Society.
Adults usually seek out therapy when they are facing life changes, a crisis, or a situation that causes distress. If this is your first experience with therapy, it is less like medicine and more like exercise. You work on yourself and find new ways of managing your circumstances. If you have had therapy before, you may seek out therapy again at another time in your life, sometimes for the same or a similar problem.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) and Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) have a Masters Degree and are registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Psychoanalysts are therapists that have received post-graduate training in analytical theories and earn a Doctoral degree.
Dr. Wuts takes Anthem Blue Cross, MEDICARE and out of network insurance (PPO). When you are using out of network insurance she will provide you with an invoice that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Sliding scale fees are available. Therapy is confidential, which means what you share with your therapist is protected information.
