It was a nice clean room. I didn't know the office didn't have "normal hotel" hours. They called to double check my arrival and had my key ready for me when I arrived. Grateful for that. After reading the reviews, I can agree with some of the quirks and cons. The baseboard heater cannot be controlled. The shower was luke warm at best. The pillows weren't the most comfortable. Weird sounds coming from the ceiling, even though there isn't an upstairs. Had to bring in an extra blanket from my car cause the ones on the bed were summer thin. Sliding screen door was tough to manage. Remote to the TV

We booked a room winter of 2019. Thought it was strange that a credit card was not requested. I called in May to confirm and again the week before we had a one night reservation. We got there on Saturday and they had no record of our reservation. So we can’t really review the motel since we didn’t get a room. I will say the lobby made me wonder about place.
The Plaza Motel was across the street and we ended up there.
We were told that the Wisconsin Wood Inn often overlooks that this happens frequently. The room we had at the Plaza Hotel was huge and clean. A bit outdated but clean.

Perfect little room for a one night getaway. You just can't beat the price. Ran into a small issue with one of the rooms not having hot water but they took action right away and got us another room. We had been tubing in the river all day so I was very concerned about being able to shower. I see other reviews about reservation issues but we never had a problem and they were very accommodating with our late check in. I WOOD return.

So here's the deal, in an area where you can have a hard time finding a hotel for under $150, the Wisconsin Wood Inn is a $50 classic American motel. That offers clean rooms, comfortable beds, and the nicest towels I've ever seen in any overnight establishment. It's had some renovations, but it is dated, and has some minor imperfections. It's not the a five star hotel with a desk clerk and bell hop. It is an excellent value, convenient as possible (10 from Dubuque, 16 from galena) and clean and quiet. If you need some one to hold your hand this is not your place. If you need a place to rest your

The room itself was actually fairly decent, with a big king size bed and a small kitchen. Once we settled in however, we started noticing problems with the room. One entire wall didn't have power. The hot water barely worked. The TV was on a broken bracket. All of these things could have still warranted a three or even four star review. What really turned us off on this room was two things: First, the room was filled with a ton of flies. Second, the hotel was filled with migrant workers, a situation that other reviewers commented on frequently. Unfortunately these guests staying up very late, were

We had to go to Wisconsin for the funeral of a friend. We made a reservation at the Wood Inn, in Dickeyville. Let me assure you the pictures on their website do no do justice to the actual room. The room they gave us was tiny, it had no closet, no dresser, nowhere to hang clothing. Also the window could not be locked. They then gave us another room, it had a closet YEAH! After settling in we discovered there was no hot water in the bathroom sink, when turning on the shower there was a leak at the shower head. I wrapped a facecloth above the shower head to prevent water from spraying into the bathroom

Clean, no frills motel. King size bed, about fills the room! It looked newly DIY remodeled. Bathroom is tiny. If you sit down you better not have super long legs or they will touch the wall. Shower was nice. Pedestal sink. Small 2 person table and apartment size refrigerator. Coffeemaker. Small 2 person deck off the room. We paid about $50 for the night.
Like I said, clean and no frills. Would stay again
