Acupuncture is one of Oriental Medicine's most important treatment modalities. While Western science has recently determined that human beings are complex bioelectric systems, this understanding has been the foundation of Acupuncture practice for thousands of years. Energy circulates throughout the body along well-defined pathways.
An equally important but lesser known modality of Traditional Chinese Medicine is Chinese Herbal Medicine, which differs from Western herbology. The origins of Chinese herbal medicine in China can be traced back at least 5,000 years, making it one of the oldest health care systems in the world. Pediatrics is a practical extension of common Chinese medicine concepts that are applied to children. At the same time, it is a distinct speciality within Chinese medicine because children present a different energetic framework than adults. Cosmetic Acupuncture treatments promote the circulation of Qi and Blood in the face. Increased blood circulation to the face moistens the skin and promotes collagen production for increased muscle tone and elasticity. From a Western medicine perspective, it is thought that the needling creates production of more collagen and elastin in the face, while encouraging the regeneration of skin cells.

Dr. Loscalzo is a real local treasure... a thoroughly knowledgeable, compassionate and professional practitioner of acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I went in for knee pain (im a runner) and she treated me with acupuncture and prescribed an herbal formula which she custom-blended on site. After a few treatments and use of the herbs, I was back at 100% and running again. I’d say, without hesitation, that she is the most trusted option for acupunture in Santa Fe, and would gladly recommend her to anyone who was seeking an alternative to standard Western medicine. She is in a new office now too

Jean is a gifted healer/D.O.M. I have worked with her for more than a year now and see her regularly - it can be for specific issues but the experience is so supportive that it is also for general care and nurturance. Jean is extraordinary with her healing abilities and treatments on all levels physical, spiritual, and emotional. Her compassion and amazing work she does far exceeds any treatment I’ve experienced. I was referred to Jean by one of my family members and I've had a great experience getting acupuncture treatments from her. I work on the computer a lot and have had trouble with neck, shoulder, and back pain. After just a few treatments I had a lot of improvement. I now sleep better and feel less stressed overall. I've recommended her to several of my friends.
