Seido Karate is a traditional Japanese style of karate, founded in 1976 by Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura. Seido teaches that while karate is an excellent means of physical conditioning and self-defense, the real purpose of this martial art is cultivation of character. Today, Seido Karate is an international organization with thriving branches in fourteen countries and more than 20,000 students worldwide.
Shuseki Shihan Don has been studying Seido Karate for 43 years and is the owner of the Adirondack Seido Karate organization located in Defreestville, NY. Sei Shihan Sandi is World Seido Karate's most senior ranking female karate-ka.
She has been an active member of the World Seido Karate Organization since 1976; first training at Troy Seido Karate until 1988 when Shuseki Shihan Don Carter and Sei Shihan Sandi opened the Adirondack Seido Karate Organization, now located in Defreestville, NY.Sei Shihan continues to train under the guidance, direction and support of Grand Master Kaicho T. Nakamura and Nidaime Akira Nakamura.
