As a woman I didn't know what to expect coming to a boxing gym but my friend convinced me to give it a try. Now I'm hooked! The people here are so friendly and the workouts are not only intense, they're fun. The hour goes by so fast. You've got to try it! My career has taken off since joining Schott's Boxing.
Classes are equally split between men and women. Most people are young adults in their 20's, 30's and 40's, but we have people in their 60's and kids as young as 10. Each class consists of a 12 round circuit, with 3 minutes of work and 1 minute rest.

Each round involves a different activity, including hitting the heavy bag, working with a coach on the punch mitts, hitting speed and double end bags, doing drills with a coach on a focus master and wall bag.Classes finish with abdominal training. Each class lasts 55 minutes. Fantastic cardiovascular and muscular endurance training.

For the workout enthusiasts, the workout classes are fun. You'll learn the basics of boxing, and put it together in a strength and cardio based workout. Coaches are all very knowledgeable, and friendly. Always available if you have questions about proper techniques.

If you have never boxed before and are toying around with the idea of trying it out come to Schott's! I have been about 5 times so far and I am hooked. It is not intimidating to walk in and sign up because everyone is so welcoming. Your first session will be hands on with a coach walking you through what to do at each session. The patrons at the gym are all very nice and helpful too! Just show up with hand-wraps, or buy them there, and they will let you borrow a pair of their gloves if you don't have your own. It is a killer workout so get ready to sweat and be hooked too!

My experience has been priceless. The operators and patrons are warm and encouraging, making my decision to return a no-brainer. The one hour workout gives me more than a regular gym has ever been able to do. It is money well spent. I definitely recommend Schotts to anyone who wants to try boxing, or who just wants a new workout experience.

Felt so comfortable on my first day. i have no experience; never touched a boxing glove in my life; fearful of failure...from entry to workout to exit, EVERYONE was helpful (even the patrons) and gave encouragement. i'll be back.

Outstanding.

Super friendly coaches, lots of space, cool patrons. The diversity of the folks that were training was awesome - tremendous age range as well as ability/fitness levels.

Experienced boxers: there's something here for you. Novices: the coaches walk through the system and give basic boxing tips.

Prepare to sweat and have fun! Great workout.

I went here today, and had an amazing experience. It was my first time boxing, ever, and the environment was perfect for all levels. They were helpful, encouraging and challenging- teaching me starter skills and building upon them. I will definitely be going back.

The students that were more experienced were equally challenged, though separated from my group of newbies. It seemed to create the right dynamic.

Tip: wraps and gloves are provided the first time. After that, you need to buy your own wraps, and you can either buy gloves or rent theirs when you go.
