The first of the Pai's Taekwondo schools opened in Glenville under Grand Master Kwang Pai and Grand Master Thomas Pai in 1984. Shortly thereafter, Grand Master Doo Young Pai came over from Korea to help teach traditional Taekwondo. Grand Master D.Y. Pai then expanded the Taekwondo family with his own schools.
The name Taekwondo comes from three separate Korean words: "Tae" meaning foot, "Kwon" meaning hand or fist, and "Do" meaning way or art. Altogether, the literal meaning of Taekwondo becomes "Way of the Hand and Foot." Taekwondo is known not only as a sport but also as a way of life, and this thought has evolved throughout its history.
Our Mighty Mites program is designed specifically for four and five year old children. The Mighty Mite program is a fun, activity-based Taekwondo class that contributes to the development of life skills in addition to physical fitness. Each 30 minute class includes fun exercises to develop basic motor skills through Taekwondo.
Our children's classes at Grand Master Pai's Taekwondo are designed to provide a fun, structured environment where children can develop mentally, physically, and socially. The students are taught the fundamental tenets of Taekwondo, such as courtesy, integrity, perseverance, and respect, and are then encouraged to apply what they learn through Taekwondo to different aspects of their lives.
Adults come to us from all walks of life, each with their own reasons for wanting to train in Taekwondo. Some are looking for exercise, some for self-defense, and others for stress relief. At Grand Master Pai's Taekwondo, adults can look to improve their physical fitness, relieve stress, learn self-defense, and more in an open and positive environment.

If you have a child 5-10 years old and youre looking to introduce your child to basic martial arts and displine Pai's can be a fairly good option to instill a good foundation for your child.
However if you are looking for anything else stay very far away from Pai's. The pai's business model is based completely off the ignorance of the laymans. Pai's TKD is what's know in the martial arts community as a "McDojo" a school that is interested far more in churning out black belts for a price than they are in providing a legimate martial arts experience. I joined Pai's TKD right after my dad died. I was almost 40, out of shape, low self esteem. They worked with me, as they do others, to teach self defense, tools to use in life - without realizing it. It's more than forms, sparring, nunchucks and self-defense. It's about leadership, mentorship what you've learned. On a personal level, Pai's TKD helped me rebuild myself from the inside out at a time I needed it most. It's 2016 and I am currently working on my 3rd Degree black belt.. I wasn't too old to start.. I CAN do it and I keep doing it. I have the focus and
