Rooted Yoga & Wellness

A LGBTQIA+ owned 501(c)(3) NPO Wellness Studio cultivating mindful living through conscious community & self exploration. The accumulation of negative emotional memories that are not released from our bodies may, over time, manifest as addiction, chronic pain, disease, repetitive injuries etc. Guided Meditations and Visualizations are available online whenever you need to restore and release.

Acupressure is essentially a method of sending a signal to the body (by needle or other means) to "turn on" its own self-healing or regulatory mechanisms. Normally, Qi (vital energy) circulates through natural pathways in the body called meridians. Blockage of this flow or an imbalance in Yin and Yang can cause illness and pain.

I am obsessed with the strength of tree roots. The resilience to withstand the weather, the grace to shed, the compassion to go through rebirth. Their cycle and evolution mimics our daily behavior. How often to do we need to Re-Root? How often do we need to grow our roots and rise up? Being rooted provides a grounding unlike no other.
You are here because you recognize you have lived around addiction or trauma. Anyone whose life has been ruled by uncertainty, inconsistency, perhaps intermittent rage, anger interspersed with kindness have experienced trauma. All of these events are lodged in the body as well as the psyche. Individual talk and group therapies address what is stuck in the mind and emotions.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
Yoga is not a religion, a cult or a belief system. At the root of yoga is self-inquiry. Everything we do, whether it's a yoga pose, a meditation, a mantra or breath work, has the purpose of encouraging us to connect to our bodies and our life experience in a more meaningful way.

For example, understanding the balance of effort and release in your yoga practice requires constant attention and sensitivity and has profound meaning in our everyday lives as a meditation on balancing stress and relaxation.Experiencing true relaxation is a deeply rewarding experience. And understanding how to move into extremely challenging poses effortlessly, with a calm mind and steady breath, is invaluable to us all in our busy lives.
Imagine your body as a room. Every day, there is lots of junk that gets piled into ourselves - our mind, body, heart and soul. This junk comes in the form of negative thoughts, emotions and energy. It can come from all sorts of different sources - the media, interactions with people, our environment, our work, or even self-generated from within.
