Do not send your child here!
Staff will not respond to bullies!
Worst camp supervisor! (Lacks appropriately education and/or experience for childcare)
Poorly trained staff!
They do NOT follow required medical forms!
The place is one filthy hazard after the next!
This Y is horribly managed and staffed from the the top down (with the exception of a few "old-timers")
It used to be a much better YMCA about two years ago but now it is a disappointing mess in basically every way it can be now!

The Lansdale YMCA has more problems than any other gym!
1) They have 3 pools and only 1 (lap pool) is now open at 5 a.m. they used to have 2 pools open at 5 am, but now the Martin Pool is now closed until 6 a.m. There are a hand full of 5 am people that come at that time and or a bit later before 6 a.m. just to use that pool. Its a warmer temp. pool for people with arthritis. Some of us 5 a.m. people found out it doesn't open until 6 am and walked out and left.
2) The other pools you never know what or when they are going to be open.
3) There is always a problems with the all 3

Just like other members mentioned, this Y has lots of good potentials but their stuffs are going out of their ways to ruin the fun for members.
1. DO NOT FORGET YOUR SWIMMING BAND!!!
We have been going to the Y for many many years even before the new family pool was built just a few years ago. Tonight I forgot to pack the bands. Life guard checks the note they have and verifies my kids PASSED swimming test and RECEIVED green bands.
Yet because we forgot he tells to put on the life vest. Otherwise pay $1 to purchase the band.
Does this mean wearing the green band will act as a life saving device

I think there is a lot of potential for improvement.
The center is beautiful.
I took the kids here because we had off from school and I heard the pool was really cool. We swim regularly at our home YMCA and all 4 kids have taken at least 2 courses of swim classes.
To hang out in the maximum of 3 foot water (there is a separate family pool area) you have to pass an extensive swim test. It included lap swiming in the lanes, treading water for a timed amount of time, jumping in the deep end, and getting out of the pool without using a ladder.
All of my kids had to wear life vests ages 10 to 6

Swim lessons at this location are very poorly run. The kids run the show not the instructor. My son has taken lessons 3 time with no progress. The instructors don't speak loudly, the kids are swimming away, splashing others and getting out of the pool during lessons. The class is only about half hour so the kids get about 5 minutes of the instructors time to perfect whatever they are trying to teach.

I was very disappointed by the size, location, and clientele at this location. It seemed more like a homeless shelter than a gym. Bums were sleeping outside and some were smoking and looking scary. The area is sketchy and I did not feel safe. I never went inside as the outside made me uncomfortable
Unfo
I just had a tour! Its a great place.... except for the homeless people in the lobby. Scruffy mentally ill looking men who sit in the lobby and watch people swim. I would hate to be caught in the parking lot by one of those guys... or the locker room. They scare the heck out of me. Manna on main

DO NOT Sign your kids up for swim lessons here!!! Horrible customer service and extremely poor communication from staff, front desk and aquatics director (Cindy).
Signed my kids (age 3 and 4) up for a 10 week intro to swim class and on DAY ONE they were fully submerged against their will 3 minutes into the lesson!!! Needless to say my 3 year old was completely petrified and so freaked out about it that he wasn't able to continue class. Now he is petrified of big pools all together because he "doesn't want to drown"....I am lucky he still likes the water at all!

I was in the ladies room and a woman put her butt up on the counter naked, wiped the area repeatedly and left the wipes on the counter. This is E COLI VILLE FOLKS. This is where people put their keys, water bottles and more. The place is a train wreck that way. My friends have mentioned other things relative to the lack of cleanliness but notta...nothing.
When you walk in to the new center on a Sunday, people are sleeping all over the lounge. It is a shelter. That is fine, but it should be held elsewhere. The cursing that is heard is unbelievable.

Really like the atmosphere here, very down to earth and every one is nice. Except the front desk ladies. They are often cold and short, but oh well. The weight training guys are always nice and helpful.
The gym is clean, but the layout is a bit confusing and the locker room are very separated from the gym part, so it is a bit hard to navigate at first because they have so many different activities there.
This is a great gym to go to if you don't want to feel trapped at a commercial type gym.
