Rockys Dojo is nationally recognized and is one of the Largest Karate Schools in the Midwest. Our two level facility is open 7 days a week for Isshin Ryu karate, kickboxing, boxing, mixed martial arts, self defense, Judo, Jujitsu, Zumba classes and weight training. Above is the first line of the Creed of Karate that all students will learn before their first promotion.
At Rockys Dojo and Gym we teach Issin-Ryu Karate, which is primarily defense based. The goal of our classes is to make the student able to defend themselves against anyone who intends to do them harm, and to learn how to use only their hands to accomplish true self-defense. Rocky's boxing is geared toward both the novice boxer looking to get in shape, develop discipline, learn techniques for hitting the bags, shadow boxing, and jumping rope.

After training with Rocky for almost 3 years, I have nothing but great things to say. Through boxing at Rocky's, I went on a journey to the best shape of my life. Valuable skills, physical improvement, mental fortitude, and honor are all major tenets of Rocky, his gym and every trainer and instructor that works with you here. I cannot recommend this gym enough.

My twin daughters started karate with Master Rocky through a park district class, and they enjoyed it so much that we signed up and continued with the classes at the dojo. After the first year of taking classes on and off, depending on our schedule, little sister decided to join as well, so the enjoyment of karate has become a family experience. The class times are convenient and flexible. Master Rocky and the other senseis have been great teachers, helping the students learn discipline of the body and the mind. Karate is not just a physical sport, but also a way of learning to conduct yourself

Rocky's is great. Our 5 year old has been doing karate w/ Rocky for 2 years. The senseis are amazing. They are very patient and are great with keeping the kids focused while having fun. The older, more experienced students are amazing too, they help and guide the younger ones. Its a great environment all around. Would absolutely recommend Rocky's dojo.

We started our 5 year old son here at Rocky's Dojo about a year now and he has never been so focused on anything else like he is with karate. He has made such a huge transformation since starting karate here at Rocky's Dojo with his maturity level when participating in all curricular activities. I truly believe it is the unique style of regiman training and teaching that will keep bringing my son to the next level in this martial art as well as life.

Whether you're an expert or have no experience, Rocky's is a place you will thrive. I am a 5'2" 100 lb. girl and I had no experience when I started kickboxing at Rocky's. Master Rocky and his staff provide a safe, inviting environment that is very educational, while you are getting a fantastic workout. I absolutely love taking classes here.

Rocky's Dojo has been a great place for my kids taking karate. The sensi's have plenty of experience and are great people. Master Rocky brings so much energy to every class as well as all the classes he teaches. Master Ron (Rocky's Father) also has a great energy and works so well with the kids. The kids are allowed to go at their own pace and get out what they themselves put into it, but always encouraged to keep pushing forward. There is a great family atmosphere that weather a student or a parent of one feels apart of. There is a reason that Rocky's Dojo and Gym have been around for so long

My boys have been going to Rocky's Dojo and Gym for karate classes since they were seven years old. They are now twelve years old and are third degree brown belts. Rocky is an extremely hands-on Master karate teacher and has a great rapport with various ages ranging from very young children, all the way up to adults. I can honestly say that my experience, and more importantly my boys' experience, with Rocky at his dojo has been better than I ever could have expected.
