Stay away from this place!! Abusive owner. Quoted 1 price and then charged about 30% more, then yelled at me when I brought this to his attention. Also took about 2 weeks for a simple necklace repair. I think he forgot about the repair until I called and asked when it would be ready. I would rate zero stars but yelp says 1 star is the lowest.

I have been dealing with Steve and his family for over 30 years. I first met Steve when I was buying jewelry for my girlfriend who is now my wife. We have gotten everything from engagement rings, wedding rings anniversary gifts and Christmas gifts. I took my Mom's antique clock to Steve to be fixed and had a antique trophy engraved. His service is impeccable, the quality of his work is just as good, and his prices are very fair. If you are looking for a small gift or a major purchase look no further then Harnicks!

Took my watch here for a battery replacement. They broke/damaged to water proofing in the process, so I took it back in to get that fixed and it took 7 WEEKS until I got it back.
Originally the owner said I could expect to wait about 10 days, and was kind enough to give me another watch to wear during that time, which was great.
Still 7 weeks is a long time to repair some minor damage to a watch, especially when it was the fault of the Jeweler in the first place.

I had a ring made and a also required custom engraving.
The ring was delivered exactly as promised and I am proud to wear it every day.
The engraving was outsourced to a laser-service (@ $2 per letter) which turned out quite expensive. However, the engraving is so precise and even that it causes a matte object to glint and sparkle. I love the engraving and am quite pleased with the quality of the service.
The ring is beautiful and I am thankful to have been able to procure such a specific, custom, item locally; and from a jeweller who wants to deliver exactly what I desired.
Will be back.

I had an extraordinarily unpleasant experience at this jewelers. Let me preface my comments by adding that I have NEVER written a review on Yelp in my 60+ years, and am motivated only by the fact that I have NEVER been treated so horribly by a merchant in my life. I only needed batteries put into two watches, and brought them in during the afternoon. I was told that they had short hours, so would probably have to come back for it tomorrow, which i said was fine. I was called that evening and told to pick them up at 11am the next day. I waited in front of the closed door until 11:15, trying

I admired a piece in the window for a few weeks, and finally had a spare 15 minutes so I went in the shop. The staff was so sweet and helpful. I went to a lunch meeting and brought my friend back in the shop with me after, to show her the item. They had called the owner and he was already there, waiting for me. He designed the piece himself, which explains why it is so unique. I wanted my boyfriend to see it, and so we decided to return a few days later. The owner called me to make sure we were coming, since we were driving back from upstate and would just make it before the shop closed. We made

I brought my engagement ring, passed down to me by my late-grandmother, to be resized and cleaned. I live locally and my usual jeweler just moved down south so I decided to go into Harnik Bros and give them a try.
There was a middle-aged woman behind the counter who was very helpful, took my measurements and explained that she wasn't sure of the cost but that I should have my ring back within a few days.
A week later, I hadn't heard anything and being as though this ring is literally irreplaceable in my eyes, I was nervous about leaving it in the hands of someone else. I began to get

My wife went in here to have a watch repaired for me a few years ago. It LOOKS like a great place with a prominent corner location in Tarrytown but we could not have been more disappointed...
The watch was a quartz (battery) watch that cost a couple hundred bucks. She took it in to get a new battery and have them buff it up a bit since it was very scratched. She CLEARLY explained that she didn't want to spend too much on it since it was a pretty cheap watch.
We came back about a week later when they said the watch was ready and I went in to pay/get it and the bill was over a $150. I asked

Gone in 180 seconds...
I came here with the intention of buying a birthday gift for a friend and was quickly deterred when the owner's pit bull came from behind the counter to say hello. I'm a dog lover so when I went to pet the dog the owner says "DON'T PET HIM" and slaps the dog hard enough to hear the contact scolding "BAD DOG".
After 3 minutes in that place I just had to get the (insert word of choice here) out. On my way out the owner says from across the store, "WHERE ARE YOU GOING?"

We hired Harnik to service our grandfather clock. It was NOT broken, it was due for routine service and overhaul. Steve said they would need it at their shop for 4 weeks. After 10 weeks they delivered it back to us. The chiming was muffled and the notes were not correct and, worse, it stopped working the very next day. Their tech came back to fix it but it stopped working again after 12 hours. When I informed Steve he became arrogant, sarcastic, rude and condescending so I asked my husband to deal with him but Steve was more arrogant, sarcastic, rude and condescending to him. A few of Steve

Hate this place with a passion! I was verbally abused by the shop owner and received terrible service.
I wanted to get my wedding rings engraved and re-rhodium. I was told that they had to use another shop for this service and that they would have them back in 3 days. I was also told not to call. They would call me when the work was finished. So, 3 days passed and as a good customer I did not call. Just before close on day 4, I call. He said that my rings had been back since yesterday. OK, So I asked why he didn't call me. He say to me and I quote, "So what, are we gonna fight
