I am Mike (Dee) Donitzen, licensed home inspector and owner of Aztec Home Inspections Inc. We are located in Virginia's beautiful Shenandoah Valley and serve Harrisonburg, Mount Jackson, Staunton, Luray, Waynesboro, Lexington, Virginia, and the surrounding area. With 40 years of experience building and repairing homes, and over 9,000+ completed home inspections, you'll benefit from our knowledge and support during your home purchase.
Aztec Home Inspections also offers additional home inspection services like radon testing in Harrisonburg and mold testing in Harrisonburg. These testing services are not included with the home inspection, so make sure to let your agent or home inspector know that you'd like to schedule these additional services along with your Harrisonburg home inspection.
Our "single-family" property inspection service will alert you to visible deficiencies in the homes, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural systems. We will document maintenance and upgrade items discovered during the inspection and evaluate the roof for signs of leaks both past and present. Mike quickly found the leak, tested the area for mold and inspected the entire house for water intrusion. His report was extremely thorough yet easy to comprehend.

Got a home inspection and radon and mold testing from Aztec Home Inspections in August 2021. Mike was great during the visit, teaching me about my home as he went through it. Since the report was produced and since I laid, i have sent two emails asking questions about the house and the report, and he responded immediately with additional useful information. Mike delivers a great service product and continues to do so after the work is done.

Excellent home inspector. Mike was thorough and checked out everything. We went into the inspection wondering if the house was solid and in good shape, and came out of it with a list of things that needed fixing but a clear indication that we were making a good decision. Mike knows his stuff, didn't pull any punches even with the realtor standing right there, and that gave us confidence in his inspection report. Highly recommend.

Mike from Aztec Home Inspections was professional, he came in and did a very detailed and thorough inspection. He took the time to explain everything he found and took the time to answer all my concerns and questions. He even had suggestions on how to address the issues he found he found throughout the inspection. He's very responsive and you can tell he truly cares about the well being of others. Aztec did an inspection for a house I was planning to purchase in February 2021. His inspection was thorough and detailed, and included pictures of all stains, broken appliances and other issues.
Fast forward about 8 months, and I was seeing water stains coming through in a freshly painted ceiling. Mike fit me into his schedule within 2 days and stopped by my house, free of charge, and did moisture and thermal testing to see if the stains were active leaks. He even climbed onto my roof and checked it out for me and gave me his thoughts on the status of my roof.
