Highland Bakery
I could definitely tell it was a popular place. It was packed, just like I remembered it, but we were able to get seated pretty quickly. We ordered the half stack of the sweet potato pancakes. They were rich and fluffy, without being too sweet. Delicious! We also each ordered the fried chicken benedict, which was amazing.

A homemade biscuit topped flaky fried chicken and a plump poached egg, topped with rich, homemade jalapeo cheddar sauce. And with food this perfect, it was still the people who work there that make this place what it is. This, is the perfect brunch experience. Get comfy and dig in! At Highland Bakery, we serve breakfast, brunch, and lunch all day long.
Services
It all started with Stacey thinking about coffee. She likes really good coffee, and figured other people would, too. So she set up some coffee carts around the city and began schooling Atlantans on how to change their morning ritual from "coffee, please" to "double tall skinny half caff bald latte, please."
Highland Bakery serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch all day at our locations all across Atlanta. Come by and taste what everyone's been talking about! What was once just a restaurant located in Old Fourth Ward is now a restaurant rapidly expanding its locations to feed everyone closer to home. We're still here in O4W, but you can find us in many other neighborhoods too.
From a coffee stand to a multimillion dollar bakery and kitchen, Highland Bakery is a steadfast classic in Atlanta's cuisine and landscape. With proven franchise success, we're here to stay. I would come back to Atlanta just for this spot & my food hasn't even come to my table yet. This place is a total vibe. I walked into a day party scene while looking for brunch!
The DJ was spinning the ClasSickest tracks from the mid 90s! Very very dope spot!

Will add more later

Visited on a Saturday morning and parking was easy to find and the cafe wasn't overly crowded. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.

They have an extensive breakfast menu and I decided to go with the hearty shrimp and grits. The grits were good, but the bread they include with it on the side is the real show stopper. It is like a jalapeño and cheese focaccia.

The food comes out quick and I would be back for some casual breakfast and coffee.

The hostess was rude and unhelpful when I asked what the size difference was between a small and large for the hoppin highlands saying "I don't know". She didn't seem willing to find out nor knowledgeable about the menu. The food was okay and the matcha latte was basically hot milk

Came here on a Sunday morning for brunch. They're located on this cute street on Highland Ave that seems pretty artsy. There's ample parking along the road and even more further down the street, it's all free!

Their ordering and seating process was a little confusing to our party when we first arrived. There were two separate lines leading to food counters with no signage (that we could identify). We accidentally entered the other side of the restaurant following the signs we did see, and were directed to go to the other door to order at the counter. Once we ordered and paid at

I have always loved Highland Bakery, but my experience this morning was nothing short of awful.
You have to order at the counter when you walk in. They hand you plastic utensils and your drink. The food is served on paper plates. This is not the Sunday brunch I have enjoyed here for years.
On the positive side, there is plenty of parking.

Perfect restaurant in the perfect location. I really loved the cinnamon roll--not too sweet, clearly homemade. The grits were okay, the sausage was good. This will be a go-to spot for me.

Welcome back,

Nancy and I visited Atlanta and on our third day we visited here for breakfast. First the neighborhood is gorgeous and has a life to it. Then we tasted the actual food and I couldn't get over the vegan cinnamon bun there. It was one of the best cinnamon buns I ever had. It was even better than the "home made" ones at Megalomart. If you get a chance walk around the town and visit this quaint, yes I said Quaint and serene restaurant. Back to Arlen...

Great Breakfast and Great Service!

Everyone here is soooo nice and the blueberry crumb cake is sooo good.

They are very quick with service despite long lines.

Parking is limited, but there is outside eating. I will definitely return here!

I was really excited to try Highland Bakery since every weekend when I walk by it, the line is wrapped around the building.

Ordering was fairly easy and I got an egg and cheese biscuit with soysauge. I would say the meal was just okay. I didn't love that everything is served on disposable ware and my meal wasn't bad, but nothing special.

Highland Bakery has my most favorite brunch item: THE FRIED CHICKEN BENEDICT. It's your typical poached eggs, but instead of your normal ham and English muffin, the perfectly poached eggs sit atop a piece of boneless fried chicken and a DELICIOUS BISCUIT. All of that is topped with this delicious jalapeno cheese sauce-- THIS SAUCE IS THE BEST. I always make sure to ask for EXTRA (10/10 recommend doing the same, you will be wanting more of it!!!)

Service here is typically on point and very kind. They also have a selection of yummy pastries available if you'd like a lighter meal or snack

I live right down the road from Highland Bakery and it's my favorite brunch spot.

Super casual, quick, and always hits the spot. As a GT alum, I was super excited to see that my new neighborhood also had a location.

Every time I go, I get the french toast. It's AMAZING. I highly recommend. The french toast itself is fairly simple, with challah bread but the brown sugar butter is to die for. The sweet cream tops it off.

Service is great as well. If you're just stopping here for a quick snack or dessert, my favorites are their lemon bars, chocolate chip pecan cookies, and strawberry

This is one of my favorite spots in the city! Never a disappointment! I have the French toast with some eggs and the French toast are bomb. Bf had the tofu scramble which he really enjoyed as well (not pictured).

Other items I've had here that were a win were: the sweet potato biscuits (my fave!), shrimp and grits, ricotta pancakes, sweet potato pancake, the chicken biscuit and gravy thing, crab cake sandwich, crab cake Benedict and bagel and lox (no capers).

Highly recommend this place !

The hostess is rude, short and not friendly. They have this weird situation where you order up front, go back outside, walk around the building to come back in just a few feet from where you started and then sit down and wait for the food.
I ordered the salmon Benedict and the salmon was extremely salty...the poached eggs were dry where the egg wasn't running once poked and the food was Luke warm at best.
I typically go to the Decatur location which I believe is closed now. And unfortunately I don't think I'll ever return to highland bakery, it's one thing for the service to

Decent food and ample amount of patio seating. Great if you're coming off the beltline and want something casual to eat. They were super quick with getting food out, and all the staff were really nice.

I got a fried chicken biscuit and their featured smoothie of the day. The biscuit was okay -- kind of dry. Chicken was also a bit bland. Smoothie was good, but also nothing special. I believe it was a strawberry/banana with protein.

I would recommend trying to avoid the breakfast or lunch rushes. It did get pretty chaotic during lunchtime. Long lines to order, and then waiting around for tables

Wonderful place to grab a quick breakfast or lunch. When I say quick I mean their service is on point! My husband very much liked the French toast and the smoothie he said tasted fresh. My iced coffee was a great blend and I appreciate they have non dairy options for milk or cream. We would definitely visit this place again!

Wow! This place definitely gave me a new spin on breakfast and I am honestly loving it. The parking was a little challenging to get to the restaurant but once I left I was able to find decent street parking. That was super friendly and I was in and out within just a few seconds to pick up my order

Quality of the food was great, Potatoes were overcooked but I still ate them because the flavor was great. Garlic bread on the side. Was a great add in. Will definitely be back to try out some more things !

Excellent service. Tons of "patio" seating in the parking lot. Amazing sweet potato pancakes (get the half order for $6!) and an incredible sweet potato biscuit (ask them to warm it up for you). Side of bacon will run you $3.50 and the iced coffee (which is cold brew) is really delicious too. Really solid brunch and breakfast fare, pretty close to the Beltline...a great stop after a workout!

The service is still not great but I like their food.

We opted to do takeout because we were afraid there was going to be a big crowd. It actually was pretty packed when we arrived for pick up. They had tables outside and inside for dine in and did their part in social distancing. It was difficult to find parking so it's a good thing we didn't eat there. We parked temporarily on the street right across the restaurant.

I ordered their regular French toast which is really good. They're famous for their peanut butter French toast but I'm not a huge fan of peanut butter. My bf

I had the fried chicken benedict with grits and a mocha latte. I sat outdoors and I thought the placement of the torches could have been more strategic to keep more tables warm. They've converted their parking lot into outdoor seating but it's fine because there's plenty of street parking.

The fried chicken benedict was hyped up so I was a bit disappointed to see that it was basically chicken tenders benedict.

Covid adaptations: there is plexi glass between you and the staff, there's a 2 party maximum on the number of people allowed to be inside, and outdoor tables are spaced
