Services
As a family-run small business we take pride in the little things. Our experienced show room employees are happy to help you find the OEM parts and accessories you need. Maintaining an up-to-date inventory is important here at Cal's Marine but we're known to have many hard to find parts for those older engines as well.
REMOVE OUTDRIVE, LUBE AND CHECK U-JOINTS, INPUT SHAFT, AND BELLOWS, CHECK GIMBAL BEARING AND PROP SHAFT, DRAIN AND FILL GEARCASE WITH LUBE, CHANGE ZINCS IF REQUIRED, CHECK ENGINE ALIGNMENT. Due to liability reasons, we're unable to diagnose a problem over the phone or instruct customers how to perform repairs.
We are always interested in talent if we can find the right "match" with our team's culture and values. Since we started in 1989, we have striven to provide a very stable, predictable year-round working environment - without a single lay-off. We believe strongly in training, personal development, and creating a win/win team environment of like-minded individuals with the "can do" spirit.
This is the place to put on top of your list for marine parts and supplies. First class service, knowledge, inventory in a very clean facility and they even have smiles on their faces as they patiently assist you! I'm totally impressed and think you will be too. I called Kayla to ask if they had my parts and she knew exactly what I needed and quickly found everything including her suggestions on better options.
Make sure the gear is out of the boat so that our technicians have access to work on your engine. This is especially important for inboards & sterndrive ski boats. If the gear is in the way we have to spend time to move it & box it up. Please bring a cover for your boat, we will be happy to help you cover it when you drop off.

Critical: Professionalism
Very rude customer service. I called for a quote for a simple service and the lady who answered the phone was abrasive and short. Maybe some customer service classes would help. I will not be calling or recommending them to anyone.

I took my boat in for annual check up to Cal's because my long time mechanic had retired. They did a good job getting it ready for the season. I've gone out more than a dozen times this year and it's run well everytime. They are a Mercury recommended repair shop.

Good place to get parts but staff not so good. She was abrasive and rude in my opinion. Had a simple question and got the " I'm not pulling a tech off a job to answer a question for you". Wow ok. I did just spend a bunch of money here. I am a tech also but on cars and I answer questions and help customers as much as I can. It's called being of service and being helpful and valuing a customer. I'll take my money elsewhere.

The place seems very efficient in a friendly small town sort of way. Unfortunately they were unable to assist with my problem, so it's hard to say more

Went in to get my choke checked out and the fluids changed. Upon dropping off the boat, I was quoted $350. Then I receive an email with a $7000+ quote, more than I bought the boat for. So then I call and say I will just pick up my boat and they proceed to tell me that they have the entire outdrive off and charge me $810 to put it back together. This place, regardless of what they say, is a complete rip off. They will never get my business again and I promise to steer anybody clear of this place that I can. Complete and total rip off!!

Have been doing business here for over 30 years back in the day when I got to speak to the owner and he would answer questions I had. Not that way anymore. I have talked with Tim many times and bought many parts and supplies from him over the years. They won't even look at my 96 sanger because it's to old. Went to ask Tim one question and thought they were going to call the cops on me because I stepped under the patio cover to ask a question. Cal would roll over in his grave if he knew a customer was treated this way. He was a great guy and that is why I always came back here for stuff. Never again

Very knowledgeable helpful. They don't work on my boat as it is beyond the vintage that they deal with (older then 2000), but they have had all the parts I have needed so far, and have been great for some helpful advice with my projects. I will continue to bring them my business.

WARNING. SCAM ARTIST
Ask to fix my engine that was dropping rpm and do the maintenance on both motors. He decided to break everything apart including hydraulic steering cylinder, lower gear case (shift rod, prop shaft, etc) when dropping the lower unit dislodge the water tube and blamed it on the water tube not being greased. Refused to cover it under warranty then Revised the estimate that I needed a new prop shaft that it was corroded( they actually make those seals where you can move them in and out For the reason for pitting if it ever happens) total up sell. On the new estimate he covers the

I just bout a new to me boat. Took my boat here to get a computer print out of the outboard. They ran a serial number check also and determined it had a recall that was never addressed so they informed me they can order the parts and get it done quickly. Good service and fair pricing.

This review is a little late but definitely deserving! My family and I are new to boating and this shop was awesome at making sure I was not treated like a newb and never felt taken advantage of. Everything from the service counter to the tech was amazing. The tech took the time to explain everything with me over the phone multiple times. When I got the original quote for my repairs (they are not the cheapest but there is a reason for that!), we discussed what should be done to fix my primary concern and then some other things they noticed through the inspection. We built a game plan on what needed

This shop does top notch work on everything they take in. Rest assured that your boat will be ready for the water and all the work done will be quality. This shop does not skimp on parts or attention to detail. You won't be disappointed. I can say these things in confidence because I used to be a marine tech in training at this shop. Tim and Alan are two of the best Marine Techs in the area, and you can trust their work and any suggestion they may have on your boat. This shop might cost a little bit more than others in the area, but what would you expect for top notch work? If you value your investment

I have taken my18' ski boat to Cal's Marine several years now. They do excellent work and are honest. I do some maintenance on my own but I leave the bigger stuff to them. Alan goes over the boat completely and gives a rundown on what he finds. He tells you everything and you can decide what you want to have fixed. It's nice to know before a problem becomes a PROBLEM. My Four Winn's is 20 years old and today was the first day on the water after the shop. It ran smooth as when it was new. I've even asked him to replace electrical and he said what I had was fine with just

BUYER BEWARE! This shop prides itself in taking longer to do the work than the published industry average. At $130 hr., one of the highest marine labor rates in the area, this equals lots of dollars out of your pocket. Their mechanics are experts at adding hundreds or thousands of dollars to your work order AFTER you have already agreed to a price for the initial work. While working very slowly, they seem to find all kinds of extra things that need to be done to your property. They mark up the parts you pay for by 30-45% higher than you can buy them anywhere on the internet and the lady Owner

I've been having lots of trouble getting my boat running correctly and finding replacement parts for the engine over the last two seasons. I came to this shop about a month ago and they not only were extremely helpful with finding and ordering random parts, but they also gave me a few tips on why my engine is running poorly. I looked into their suggestions and they were exactly right. Boat runs great now. Thank you Cal's Marine!

Oh boy where to start?
Brought my boat in for a yearly service, trailer brake repair and to repair a gear oil leak that was leaking in my bilge area as well as outside the outdrive area. Next was a phone call stating my outdrive was shot and I needed a new one at the cost of approximately 5K+. Then the next item on the list they told me about was my motor, they said i needed a new one because one of my cylinders had low compression and was not running properly, despite the fact that my motor only has 400 hours on it and they did not even check the compression, but this was another 5K ticket price

Cal's Marine is worth the 40 minute drive to Loomis from Sacramento. Their staff is polite, knowledgeable and honest. The shop is clean and well stocked with items every boater needs.

I had brought my boat in because I thought the bellows were cracked and leaking but after inspecting the boat Al let me know that the leak was due to a bad transom seal. They ended up having to pull the whole engine and outdrive off (obviously far more expensive than replacing just the bellows) in order to rectify the problem. Though the initial sticker shock of the work took a second to digest, I was comfortable

Brought my new boat in for a winterization after its first season, and decided to give Cal's a try after talking to the service advisor on the phone, their assurance that a specific drop off and pick up date could be scheduled (I live out of area) and completed on time, and their one star YELP review. About that review - I'm pretty fastidious with my boat, and welcomed somebody going over it with a critical eye. I also wanted the outdrive pulled and aligned and Cal's Marine brought it up without my having to ask - and it was included in the general winterization estimate. Well

Brought in my boat for an outdrive alignment and through check over. My boat is a 2004 and this had never been done on the Volvo counter-rotating outdrive. I also had them replace impeller, batteries and oil change. They did a great job. They are very conscientious and made sure I was informed all along the way. Cost was very reasonable as well. Halfway through the job, the boots were found to be cracking - so I had those changed as well. Better to spend a few hundred bucks now than a new outdrive later!! They seemed very capable and professional. Test drive out on the lake - all went
