My name is Dr. Jeffrey Steinbrink, and I am the founder of Cambridge Compassion and Mindfulness Psychology; a practice that is highlighted by its use of Self-Compassion Psychology and Mindfulness Psychology. The son of a kind, generous, and insightful psychologist, I learned at a young age how to use psychology's tools to manage life's adversities, and how to find ease for myself and others in even the most dire circumstances.
As an adult, life's tougher questions and a greater awareness of suffering in the world required a more refined skill set. While I practice many methodologies, none have been so effective as mindfulness and self-compassion. In a busy world, missed opportunities to recognize hardship and address it with kindness so often leads to suffering.

Services
I treat almost the entire lifespan - 12 years old and up, and I have treated many difficulties in various clinics, schools, and urgent care facilities. Below you will find a list of many of my specialties, but it is not exhaustive. If you do not see your issue on this list, please feel free to inquire by email or by phone as to whether I treat your particular issue.
Self-Compassion is the means by which we alleviate pain or distress by acknowledging its cause, making room for it, and finding ways to direct kindness to it. Many people find themselves avoiding or trying to dull stress with other means, which tends to store rather than process stress, increasing its effect over time.
I will not discuss your case with anyone without your written consent with exceptions to legal limits of confidentiality. E-mail is not a secure form of communication, and therefore, you should not include any sensitive clinical information in your messages to me. I accept private pay for therapy sessions, and do not take insurance, but some insurance companies provide out-of-network benefits and might reimburse some to all of your sessions.
