Psychotherapy can be seen as a guided tour of self discovery. You choose the paths down which to travel and the therapist helps you to see things that may not have been readily apparent. This process broadens your view of yourself and the world around you.
Seeing circumstances and relationships from a new vantage point helps you to see options that may not have been previously clear and to make changes once you become aware of the additional possibilities. With more than 30 years working as a licensed clinical psychologist, I have found great satisfaction in seeing my clients change and grow as they work with me in individual, couples, and group psychotherapy.

Services
I work with clients in individual, couples or group psychotherapy or a combination of these, depending on the goals of treatment. The clients I see in psychotherapy include homemakers, college students, stressed executives, academics, and other high functioning professionals. Many of my clients find my background in law and business to be a good fit for understanding their issues and conflicts.
You are about to embark on an important journey. Finding the right kind of therapy and a psychotherapist who has the qualifications to help you make the most of your journey is critical to getting you where want to go. Few people would go on a difficult hike without making sure they had shoes that fit well.
Working with an experienced therapist in individual psychotherapy provides an opportunity to be seen and known by someone who can help you to better see and know yourself and can help you make the changes needed for a more satisfying life. Often, when things are going wrong in our lives, it is hard to understand what is not working.
Couples therapy can be helpful when a relationship has frayed with the passage of time or when it becomes clear that old solutions are no longer effective in resolving current issues. Major life transitions (birth of a child, empty nest, career change, life threatening illness) can cause wear and tear on your relationship, highlighting old conflicts and providing momentum for taking stock of the relationship and finding new ways of relating.
Group psychotherapy is a special form of therapy in which a small number of people meet under the leadership of a professionally trained therapist to learn about themselves and improve their interpersonal relationships. A therapy group provides an opportunity for you to meet with others to share problems or concerns, to better understand your own difficulties, and to learn from and with others.
