My Mom and I made the decision in January, 2020 to try the Grand Oaks’ 60 day Respite Stay Program as a way of “testing the waters” in her transition to a retirement community environment. Overpriced and misleading. We really wanted to like this place, but moved because of all the issues. The kitchen was shut down for several days due to "vermin infestation". We went weeks with no hot water in the apartment. The elevators are regularly out of order. The staff turnover rate is very high, indicative of deeper problems with the management and institutional leadership. If you need any actual care they tell you to hire a private duty aide, driving the expense to unsustainable heights. There are better options in the area when it comes to care, cost, comfort and safety.
