We dined at La Plage last night for my 50th Birthday. It was the best dining experience I’ve had in years! The restaurant was clean and comfortable. The staff was so attentive and service impeccable. The meal arrived hot! I mean like hot where you need to blow on it hot. That never happens when dining out. Absolutely blew us away. Not only will we back back , we will be sure to recommend to everyone. Thank you!

La Plage was amazing from every aspect. We were greeted with a smile immediately as we walked in and shown to our table. The atmosphere was warm and very comfortable. Our service was top notch and our food was out of this world. For appetizer we ordered the beef capacio, oysters and little necks on the half shell. We ordered the Duck confit and Oso Bucco for our entres. One word...outstanding. Kudos to the entire staff at La Plage. It has easily become our new favorite restaurant.

Excellent food in a casual, beachy setting across the street from Wading River Beach. My wife and I went for lunch and chose the 3 course menu ($30) plus wine for $5 additional. The potato cauliflower soup, beet salad and branzino were all great. The desserts (apple crepe, lemon tart) were good but not as memorable. Highly recommended.

My wife and I have been going to La Plage for 20 years now. It is safe to say that it is our favorite restaurant. The place itself is a study in contradictions to a positive end. It is local, but also gourmet. It caters to a sophisticated crowd, but it isn't pretentious. Its menu is consistent, but the specials are ambitious and challenge you not to choose them over your favorites. The wait staff is knowledgeable and professional, but never talk down to you. Hidden gem on the North Shore of Suffolk County! Merry, Freddy, Andrew, Ben and all of the staff greet us each and every time with a warm welcome. The menu is fabulous and the food is always consistent. Wayne is blessed to have this wonderful establishment with the most amazing staff. This is our go to place since 1998.

We found this a couple of months ago and have already been there maybe six times. Food is excellent and the staff are wonderful. Weve loved all three bartenders we've met who give really honest advice about the food and drinks. We've met very nice people at nearby tables who have been going there for years. Unfortunately i cannot give La Plage 5 stars. When i read their website page NY Times wrote s very nice article that IMHO is a tad exaggerated after my visit here as i was invited for a date.I was expecting a French restaurant with a fancy setting, wonderful traditional french food and waiters dress in fine clothing. The place is more like a beach restaurant with a mixed menu, waiters in shorts, 1 french dish on the menu, very hot inside, very loud and not very romantic. An absolutely perfect lunch experience - I wish I lived in the area, I would eat here every day. La Plage has the atmosphere of a casual beach restaurant, like something you would find in the south or France or Spain, with the cuisine of a Michelin Star Restaurant that would take an act of congress to get a reservation at. In essence - a flawless experience...

We had 7:00 reservations and were seated in a back area, no view but we'd been staying at a home adjacent to the restaurant so we've seen the view for over 2 weeks. Others seated in this room asked to be moved but we didn't see the need. We started off with cocktails.... Cosmo, coconut margarita and an old fashion.... All were perfectly executed. Something magical is happening in the kitchen at La Plage. We've been to La Plage several times over the years before Covid and always enjoyed the food. We returned last evening hoping to find the food just as delicious and comforting as we remembered. We were not disappointed! We started with the beet salad which was lightly dressed, studded with pistachios and generous with the beets. Meh. Went there a few times and they allowed me to hang outside with my dogs on a day sofa in the parking lot while a server brought us drinks. That part was cool. Till one day a lady came out and said "no no no, this is NOT happening! You can't have dogs here". I explained that we have done this a few times and it was never a problem with staff and she said nope, this never happened you guys need to leave. Okay then, nice courtesy, thanks.

One of the best restaurants I have ever been to. I'm plant based so I called ahead to see if the chef could accommodate and boy the could! Starting off with the most delicious homemade bread at the table, la plage did not disappoint. The prices are high but it is well worth it. It's a cozy little place with professional servers. They made me a pesto pasta with delicious vegetables. Went there a few times this past summer and each time food and service was impeccable! The mussel appetizer is amazing and one of the reasons I kept going back! I have to say I had high expectations. My first disappoint is that the website did not say the menu was scaled down. I ordered the Grilled Marinated Chicken Breast. The presentation was blah at best and the chicken was dry. My friend ordered the Rigatoni Pasta and she quite enjoyed the sauce. The sauce on the PEI mussel appetizer is also worth a try and the mussels were prepared quite well. I have to say the view of the water is an added plus for the restaurant. The staff was friendly. I will try it again when the full menu is available instead of the scaled down pandemic menu.
