Going to the dentist for the first time can be a challenging experience for a child, but we know how to make it comfortable. You should schedule an appointment immediately if your child has a swollen jaw, fractured tooth, or some other kind of dental emergency. The Kuhio Pediatric Dental team is excited to be working with Doctor Leone.

Services
Aloha and Mahalo for choosing Kuhio Pediatric Dental. We are delighted and grateful to be serving Kauai's children since 2017. We are conveniently located in Lihue, and our little "hale" (house) on the highway provides a fun, happy, and comfortable setting for children of all ages. We look forward to providing the best care and dental treatment possible for your child.
Kuhio Pediatric Dental Is excited to welcome Dr. Erica Leone to our dental practice beginning in May. Dr. Leone is a North Carolina native born and raised in Burlington, NC. She received her undergraduate degrees at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill double majoring in Biology and Italian.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends that a "Dental Home" should be established for your child by one year of age. We recommend that your child visits our office when you notice the first teeth appearing and no later than their 1st birthday. A visit to the dentist should be a positive experience.
At Kuhio Pediatric Dental we provide primary and advanced, individualized oral health care for infants, children, adolescents and patients with special health care needs. During your child's dental visit the pediatric dentist will perform a thorough clinical and radiographic exam, afterward we will discuss our findings with you and explain the treatment options.
What's a pediatric dentist? Pediatric dentists receive two to three years of specialty training after dental school, making them particularly adept at providing dental care to infants, children, and adolescents. When will my baby start teething? Every child is different. For some babies, their teeth erupt early.

Everyone in this office is so personable and caring, when it comes to pediatric dentistry so much more goes into the visit then just being capable of dentistry. The dentist, hygienists and even front desk staff have a way of communicating with the children so that they understand what is going on and can not only learn but also feel safe. We have done visits for not only cleanings but also procedures and have been very happy with every experience. Very grateful to all of the wonderful women that work there!

We had a dental emergency while visiting Kauai last year for our 3 year old. Kuhio Pediatric Dental was amazing and ensured that our little one was taken care of. They took our insurance and even apologized because there was tax on the bill. I inquired for pricing in case our insurance didn't cover everything (it did) and for xrays and bonding it was just over $100 which would be a steal even without coverage. Would recommend 10/10.

Unable to accommodate when making appointments. One of my kids appointment got cancelled without me knowing. They said my child wasn’t scheduled but I had an appointment card they gave me. Got a letter from the Dr that she won’t be seeing my kids anymore. Left a message with staff to speak with her. No return call and it’s been 3 weeks. Too bad, she’s a great Dr at what she does but the front office have no organizational skills.
